Anyone have issues like the title states? My screen doesn't show the backup grid on the display what seems like every dozen times I use reverse.

Mine did that too the first year, on and off. Hasn’t done it for a long time. I thought it was cold weather related but it did it in some of the spring months too

I live in the desert so I can effectively rule out the cold weather effect. I've only had one service done and it's due for its 10k so I'll just bring it up and see what they say. @ryanwgregg do you think that TSB on the head unit software has anything to do with it?

@ryanwgregg and others...is there a way I can ask or the dealer can show me proof they completed the TSB? My trucks been at the dealer for a week and they claim they can't replicate the problem so they won't do it, I finally (rather sternly) convinced them that I know the problem exists I know there is a TSB to fix it and I wasn't gonna take it back in a week so they can try again. This also includes the TSB for the clunk noise on startup that they say they can't replicate either. If the dealer wasn't 100 miles away I wouldn't make such a big deal about it but I don't want to be driving back and forth to get something fixed that they won't believe me exists

So I picked up my truck yesterday and after 2 weeks of being at the dealer they decided the complaint was too vague to perform the TSB for software update on the head unit. They claim they could never reproduce the complaint of the intermittent disappearance of the grid lines. Kind of frustrating but I'm not going to bitch about it, I'll just video the next time it happens for their proof.
On a good note got the 10k service done, all recalls taken care of, the TSB for the loud clunk on startup, and the driver side seat panel replaced under warranty.

FWIW, my Tundra had this same issue. I eventually noticed that my tailgate wasn't closed tightly. I opened and closed the tailgate and the backup camera grid lines reappeared.

The tail gate was the issue for me. It was easy for me to notice because each time it happened my bed step deployed as if the tail gate were opened. The dealer adjusted the tail gate and that worked for a bit. The second time they replaced the tail gate switch.
