So a few weeks back I noticed that it felt like I was in a boat driving my truck. Real bouncy, steering would pull a bit on any bumps. I found the inner tie rod on the drivers side to be the culprit. Pretty significant left to right play on the tire. So I went with moog parts and swapped out it all on both sides. Was good for about 2 weeks after the alignment and now it starting to do it again. Jacked it up again today and took a video. There is some play and a slight clunking noise on the drivers side. Not as much as before. Does this amount of play constitute a bad inner tie rod? I know moog has gone downhill a bit over the years. Just wanted to see others thoughts. https://youtube.com/shorts/Q1O5zHYTkr4?feature=share

that is a lot of play. Maybe it was a defective part out of the gate, happens. Maybe wheel bearing?

Whenever I have removed or messed with wheels like that I didnt notice any perceivable play, not enough to really see or feel anyway.

It’s definitely better than it was the first go around which leads me to believe it is the tie rod. Plus the clunk I hear is right where the inner tie rod connects to the steering column. Here’s the video I took of the OEM inner that was bad….there was a ton of play on that one. https://youtu.be/3uGZC9_YLBQ
