Not always true nowadays. We're starting to see Icon products that are now Made in the USA. I'm not saying they're shifting gears and onshoring their products, but there are more USA-made items at HF now than before. It's a topic of discussion on the HF sub-reddit.

Highly recommend the Badlands off road jack. I've had mine for a few months now and it's awesome. I've used mine several times, though not off road. I've used on my gravel pad when swapping out coil springs, upgrading my bump stops, etc. It's also much cheaper than the Pro Eagle (don't let them fool you...their jack is also made in China by the way).

I'm an IT member and I believe this is the cheapest I've seen it since I bought mine in Sept of last year. I waited and waited for it go on sale and finally pulled the trigger when HF had a blanket coupon of 15% all Jacks and Jack stands. I got mine for $271.99 (15% off the regular price at the time which was $319.99).

    i didn't even know penny's was still a store.

But back on topic, I've have the badlands and it is essentially the pro eagle with different stickers. Works effectively and stays in my truck for bed weight in the winters. Paid $299 when it first came out. Amazing the inflation hasn't effected everything seeing it retail for only $20 bucks more even at msrp.

I installed my 911 Motorsport mounts to a section of 3/4" treated plywood that I had. It's nice because I can slide it in/out of the bed as needed. I'm thinking about mounting this horizontally to the bed rails, at some point.

    Too many, but not enough....
or almost anything for that matter. It took me weeks to find a grease gun that was not made in China or India. Finally found an Australian made McNought. Great product and not a whole lot more expensive.

That being said, this badlands jack is the real deal. when you open it and take a look at the quality, you will know its legit.

I think this is a common misconception with the use of "off road" for this product. It's not really meant to be used for recovery. Though I did see a video of a Jeep using it to get unstuck after high centering itself. It's really about the convenience of floor jack that can be used easily while off of the pavement. Just trying to roll my old 3-ton floor jack across my gravel parking pad was PITA. Not to mention a noise so loud that it would rival a jet engine.

I used to carry a farm jack with me in my XJ. Great for recovery in my "I don't need a winch" days of youth. But, it sucked changing a tire because my jack points were only the front bumper or the rear bumper. I didn't have rock sliders so I couldn't jack up the Jeep from the sides. I still have that farm jack. I use it for pulling out fence t-posts and pulling up small shrubs & trees now.
