I know this topic has been beat to death, just looking for real world comparisons and wondering if the covers are different enough to warrant the price difference? They all look pretty similar other than the top finishes, and I’ve read in a few places they are made in the same factory? Are you just paying more for a better warranty, or is it worth the extra cost because it’s a noticeable upgrade? Thanks in advance, new to tonneau covers.

I can only speak to my Bakflip MX4 but I'm very happy with it so far. I like that it comes with drop down brackets so you retain use of the bedrails.

The MX4 is rated for 400 lbs (evenly distributed) on top, I see the Gator is 300. I've carried stuff on top already, only 80-100 lbs. but it was nice to have the option to strap on top rather than hanging out of the tailgate.

For the most part they look very similar.

That looks good! I’ve never saw a cover that you can use with the tie down/rack system the way you have it set up. Cool setup

Gator scratches easy, mx4 is good, my undercover scratched and dented easy but it wasn’t an armor flex so I imagine armor flex is stronger

What track are you using for mounting the racks? My 2023 Tundra Limited is ‘flush’ on top of the bed/box and I am needing a tonneau & rack set up like you have. Was looking at Diamondback Hd & Yakima Overhaul HD, but your set up appears to be a better value. Thanks-

For what it is worth. I would buy the Diamondback over a trifold again. I have the MX4. Yeah. I like the cover. It has a fantastic warranty and that is good because they have sent me 3 of them under warranty. First one leaked in the center. The replacement had multiple quality issues that were fixed under warranty. Then the rubber stripping between the panels shifted leaving big holes in the sides. Third one is currently on the truck and I’m waiting for it to crap out. Very disappointed in what you get for $1000 but they have stood by it. If you don’t mind dealing with it. Go for it. If it were me I would get the Diamondback.

Yeah, I was really surprised how few options there are available for running racks with a tonneau, unless it's a retractable. With the 5.5' bed I didn't want to give up any space to the cannister for a retractable.

The rails are made by Elevate, same as the racks. A little spendy, but it works well for my lifestyle.

I installed the ArmorFlex on my '21 Pro, and I'm very happy w/it.

I've had it for just over a year and a half, and I've had no issues w/it. The top of the cover is pretty resilient. I'm routinely putting tools and other potentially damaging items on top of it, and the surface has held up.

The hardware and functionality of the cover has also performed very well is has not corroded even with the harsh moisture we get here on the Oregon coast.

I have no personal experience w/the other 2 covers....

I hope you're happy w/your choice, and welcome to the forum

Diamondback just released a tri-fold version called the switchback.

I had a bakflip on my 13 and loved it. Got a tonno flip for the 19 and not as good. Top dents easily and clamps are not good. Company says installation error but not the case. In tonnoflip the rails inside bed drop down 3inches and the truck bed trail only an inch. So the clamp only catches maybe 1/4 inch underneath. On long drives the clamps often fall off.

Thanks for all the replies, above was the first I had heard of the new diamondback tri-fold so I may hold off and see what the initial thoughts are on those before I make a decision. Leaning towards the ArmorFlex for the time being, the mx4 would be the perfect middle ground for features and affordability but it seems like it has a lot more bad reviews than good reviews from everything I’ve been reading online
