Hey everyone! Looking to add a second battery to run a winch and some lights and what not, anyone have an isolator kit they would recommend? Looking for plug and play as much as possible but I’m comfortable with wiring! Just checking around before I order parts.

Thanks, that does look like a really nice kit. But I’m not looking to spend that much if I can help it. I appreciate the link!

Are you just trying to add battery capacity or do you plan to run a bunch of stuff off the second battery with the truck off?

I’d like to run some stuff with the truck off. The lights under my camper shell, cell phone charger. And a few other small things.

Two problems with that crutchfield kit: There's no disconnect between the two batteries to keeps from running the truck battery down, and a 22ah battery isn't going to last very long before it needs to be charged.

you can look at the SDHQ kit parts list to get an idea what you'll need: Wire, terminals, a voltage sensing relay (bluesea ACR or similar), some way to mount the battery, and a battery.

I’ve found a few kits on Amazon. Then I’d just need to add a battery.

Careful, some of those no-name kits come with cheap, small wires that are only good for low current and short lengths.
