I just had to replace the battery in my 2010 with a 4.6 engine. I went to AutoZone and they sold me one with the terminals on the wrong sides. That is what their parts lookup indicated. I returned it and dealt with one of the asst mgrs who had owned a Tundra similar to mine and had encountered this issue before. She said that she thought that on some models or model years, the battery hookup used different sides with different engines. I ended up with a group 24F batt "like the old Fords."
    Anyone else encounter this issue?
I did notice that removing and installing it was easier than in the '02 Ram it replaced.

Never had this issue, did have an issue with a AAA contractor connecting jumper cables backwards, the light smoking gave it away..

auto zones system is wrong your truck takes a 24F or a 27F. the F identifies the battery as a reversed terminal battery, some battery manufactures will use an R instead. Almost every Toyota takes an F battery.

Whenever battery replacement is required, I always bring a picture of the current battery label and wiring orientation.

Also, whenever practical I try to bring the part I’m replacing into the parts store to make sure I’m getting an equivalent. Saved me a few trips back to get the right one.

From experience, alot of Autozone employees don't have an automotive background or know anything about cars. It is a retail sales job, and automotive knowledge is not a requirement.
