hope this isnt a silly question. but I have always had old Chevys as work trucks. My tundra is the first truck ive had that holds water in the box. is there supposed to be drain holes or no if not has anyone drilled any?

there's drain slots in the bed up front near the cab that can get clogged up with crap. I use an old credit card or something like that to clear them out from time to time.

My truck bed is open to the elements and snow, 24/7/65, since I got it.

No water has ever pooled up. It drains somewhere. As @TILLY said, up front and likely at the hinge open/seam/hinge area of the tailgate.

Washed out the Bed today and found the drains, they work NOW after cleaning out the sand and pine needles, price you pay for living in Northern Minnesota. Going to do a roll on bed liner i will have to be careful not to plug the drains.

Standing water in bed of my 2012
Any suggestions on where I should place drain hole in the floor of the bed vs the wall ones shown?

Hard to tell from that pic, but don't you have the usual drains between the bed and front wall that was already mentioned here, or is it sealed?

Id definitely try to drill from underneath up into the bed if possible, maybe purposely fill the bed with water and see where it sits the most and drill there, using a self tapping screw to make the hole might make it easier too, or a step bit.

Can you clear away the liner where the stock drains are supposed to be?

After looking closer I see the slots and will clean them out to see if the liner isn’t the main clogging factor.

Surely they would mask the drains before spraying it if they're that small

With the spray in bed liner the slits get clogged pretty easily. Before I got the topper I would just take a screwdriver and clean them out.

Might sound obvious but how about making an effort to park so that any water drains out the tailgate end? Judging by the amount of green muck up front there (before you cleaned) it looks like you park on a slope steep enough to hold a fair bit of water, ergo by facing the other way...

I don’t like backing out of my driveway so that’s part of it, also truck stance front end is a little lower than the back.
Shouldn’t be an issue now with those slots cleaned out.
Green muck shouldn’t build up now

See if you can get them all out. I loosened all mine in the fall, sprayed with anti seize.

There was one I couldn't get out with my tools. I will have the shop loosen it for me on next service. I don't want to strip it, buy my cordless impact wouldn't budge it.

That's understandable, trouble is that all the crap that falls out of the air is going to keep blocking your vents unless you clean regularly. A reasonably simple solution might be to create a couple of ramps on the driveway at the position your front wheels sit when you park up - a little care doing it and it shouldn't look like the neighbors thinking they've got rednecks living next door.
