Curious if anyone has regrets about putting in a bedrug system. I’m thinking about getting one, haven’t heard any bad things but want to know if anyone has had bad experiences with one.

    I love mine too!

My only complaint is the Bedrug is hairy so it picks up debris. Its easy to clean with a shop vac however.

I have the full BedRug with the attached tailgate piece. I also have the factory bedrail system and the BakFlip HD that required the side bedrail relocation plates. In short, my wife and I love this setup! I've had it since the truck was new, 2015, and have not experienced any issues at all.
Send me a PM if you would like more information.

If I could time travel, I'd get one on my previous 7 trucks. Amongst other things.

The adhesive for the tail gate velcro doesn't hold up to heat and wind, I don't know how to get it to stay after even a few months of sun exposure (the truck is parked outside).

It's been about a year and a half and I'm kind of curious about what (if anything) is getting trapped near the bed drains, but I do see moss and algae forming on the rug near where the water drains. The fix for that is parking the truck so the sun hits the bed and the next rain seems to clean it off.

Otherwise, I can climb around in the bed on my hands and knees with no discomfort. Since the velcro is so tight and the adhesive so weak, I have yet to remove the rug and see if there are any dents/scratches on the bed so I can't comment on how it protects.

The next time around I would get the factory spray-in bedliner and call it a day.

I have a tonneau cover, don't know how it would work without one. Oh and spray in bedliner too.

So I’ve got a tonneau cover and the factory plastic liner. Hate the plastic, however it has served its purpose- so there’s that. Thought about spray in, but for about the same price the comfort of the bedrug is very attractive. I do live in a damp region now, new experience to me. From what I gather it’s a great upgrade. Hopefully I can find a good deal over Black Friday. Amazon is about same as everywhere else but w free shipping.

Sounds like it’s the next purchase. It’s such a pain trying to figure out where to spend the money I’d normally spend at a Chevy dealer for actual parts or repairs.

I’ll probably go with the complete one. Might be a pain with the bedrail system though.

Love mine. I went with the one available thru Toyota parts (was cheaper then anywhere else and is the exact same). Just finished installing it along with installing the Toyota bed rails over it. Turned out looking great.

Just a Bed Rug, Soft Topper, Console Safe
I was slightly skeptical before I installed it.

I got the one that covers the bed and gate. I have factory spray in bedliner under it. I used the adhesion promoter they sent with the kit, and it holds quite well. Note: I have the Soft Topper over it most of the time.

I wouldn't own a truck without the BedRug. You can kneel on it all day. And it'll come out if you just can't bear to dump a pile of soil on it. I like to keep mine clean so I rent a trailer for really big nasty loads.

It drys well if its warm enough. Other than my console safe, its the best non-suspension accessory I've added.

I havn't had a truck in 20 years but always around my dads and others. I now consider bedrug a must have accessory for non dirty jobs. I only got the floor and tailgait mat with gap protector. my knees are now thanking me. i got a line-x spray liner and a camper shell. I can probably sleep on the pad.

Not at all, it's great for my dogs. It's also nice on your knees when you crawl around in the bed (I have a cap).

I'm a HUGE fan of the Bedrug..
But keep in mind, I've always had it covered.

It is definitely a knee saver..
It's also a butt saver when tailgating..

Had a full Bedrug in my 2005 DC with a Retrax cover.

    Bedrug3_c6b886ca58b8283e2c9a6368a3dd12a9e95c8fd6.jpg Bedrug2_1266c44f879805f48ce3ba6c89148fece646218b.jpg

I now have the factory spray-in liner on my 2014 DC.
I have the Bedrug floor and tailgate mat in it with an Undercover Flex cover..

Both were like having a 6.5' trunk.

    I'd add this;
I'd ditch ANY solid plastic bed liner.
I've seen too many of them on the side of the highway..:eek2:

Even it you don't have a spray-in liner, I'd opt for the bed floor and tailgate mat over the full mat.
I think they sell one option with the bed and tailgate mat connected like my old full Bedrug was.

Reason is, it you need to haul dirt or something really dirty, you can easily pull the floor and tailgate mat off, clean it out (bed and Velcro), and put it back in.
If you have a full Bedrug, it is more of a PITA to remove and reinstall..

Never had a problem with mold or anything of that nature...

I got one a week ago (I just bought the floor liner version) and I can’t believe I spent the past 15+ years using blue foam sleeping pads in the bed for the dogs, instead of this thing. Best $108 I have spent in many, many years. Now I think I’m going to buy an 8ft version to cut up and match the back of my Yaris (and see if there is enough left to do the Sienna with the back bench folded down). I keep the seats folded down and spend way too much time filling in the gaps and making it smooth and level back there, with pads and blankets and whatever. The bed rug is just what I need to make that a quick job, that looks good.

I have had them in my last three trucks, would buy them again. Wash out sundry clean the tailgate and add an extra strip of velcro or two.

So, that’ll be the next purchase for the truck. Thanks for all the replies, lack of a single “don’t do it” confirms what I was thinking. Thanks.

100% agreed on both the positive reviews and the weak adhesive on the loop and hook stickers.

I have the basic floor rug and tailgate rug. Floor is fine - but fine but found the tailgate adhesive coming loose. Emailed and they sent a new set - seems better, not perfect - but better.

That said - plan is to get a spray on liner - will give me best of both worlds. A protective liner AND ability to haul things that might otherwise be scratched by the spray on and to climb in without tearing up my knees.

The full bedrug is nice - but pricey.

4'x6'x1" rubber stall mat here. Good on the knees, lasts forever regardless of the environment, adds weight which equals traction. And no, I didn't buy my truck for fuel economy. Yes, your bed is likely wider in places than mine due to the trail boxes in mine. EZ, get 2, turn sideways and cut to fit by using a cardboard template. End result, durable, non slip, all weather surface that will protect the bed from dents, gouges, etc. Plus in my case, I can use mine for an easy to clean camping mat outside my trailer or tent. Yeah, you can buy a cheap 1/4" thick made to fit bed mat too.

I have a bedrug in mine over the factory sprayed in bedliner and its a great investment; absolutely love it. Zero complaints. I have the bedrug that covers the full base and tailgate, no sides... which I now regret not getting the full bedrug.

I have a camper shell on my truck since day 1. Do any of you have a bedrug WITHOUT a tonneau cover or camper shell? I'm afraid to take mine off and let it be exposed to elements of the truck sitting outside. Rain / snow.

What happens if water / moisture get under the bedrug and between the spray in bedliner, do you guys get rot or anything?
Do you remove the bedrug every week or so and let it fully dry out?

I'm super OCD so don't want to remove the camper shell and cause damage, truck is pristine.

Mine is garaged and the peel-and-stick adhesive failed on mine as well. I just used super glue and that fixed the ones that de-laminated. I only have the tailgate rug and the factory bed mat over Premium Line-X on the inside of the bed. The tailgate rug is excellent on my knees for climbing in and out or just sitting on the open tailgate.

So to update my original post. I’ve had my full bed rug for about a year now, no issues. Love it. When I do a dump run with a particularly nasty load o throw a tarp down. Vacuumed it today gap a trip to OBX with the dogs this weekend. It’s very comfortable on the knees, very durable so far. It does get wet a little when it down pours here, even with tonneau cover but dries real quick.
If anyone else is on the fence about a bedrug, do it.
