Anyone running a Bedrug in their 3rd gen? If so, would you recommend it? I’m considering putting one in over my spray in liner.

I've had bedrug in my ram inside of the camper shell, it looked like new after ten years, and made it more comfortable and easier on my knees crawling into the bed.

I'm getting my new camper and bedrug installed in Tundra, on top of the spay bed liner in a few days. Just hoping that bed rug will attach securely to the spray bed liner... I think they use strong double side tape...

Installed the bedrug. Fits as it should and working as intended.

Haven't noticed an issue over the spray. One or two small pieces of velcro had to be reattached but thats it.

Yup, I have the basic bedrug just like the one I had in my Tacoma. Perfect liner for under a tonneau cover, IMO. Or also if you have a cap. But I probably would not use one of these with an open uncovered bed.

I have a BedRug and it's in an uncovered bed. No different than covered. BedRug is solid. Definitely worth considering.

I have had a BedRug in my Gen1 for 20+ years. It was installed shortly after the vehicle was purchased (November 2001) It was installed over the bed paint (no liner). No issues, it still looks great. I have an ARE LSII Tonneau Cover over the bed.

In November of 2007, I purchased a 2008 Tacoma and put in a BedRug over the composite bed and installed another ARE LSII Cover. No issues here either. I traded the Tacoma in early 2011 for a 2011 BMW M3.

The BedRug is quality product. I am about to put one in my 2020 Tundra, as soon as the ARE Cover is delivered/installed.

I went with the Bedrug XLT mat inside my topper. I have it over my spray in liner. It's more industrial in case of spills and such. It sure makes it easier when crawling in my bed with these old knees. Ir's easy to clean if you spill something on it. I definitely recommend it.

I've had a full BedRug under a carpet lined Leer topper in my Gen 1 Tundra for 20 years now. It's great, and I'd never have another truck without a BedRug and topper. My BedRug has gotten heavy use from hauling construction materials, dirt and gravels, logs, big game carcasses, everything. I vacuum it occasionally, and once a year or so will use a Rug Doctor or other carpet extraction cleaner on it. It shows little sign of wear.

The foam padding is easy on the knees, the carpet controls things from sliding around, and it's quieter. For few years, I camped inside doing wildland surveys around the state, and my wife and I have camped in it on cross country trips. Along with the carpet lined topper, there is no sweating inside--the dripping from the ceiling that my older toppers had.

For hauling larger, heavier items, I have a utility trailer.

Underneath, the paint is free of dents and scratches. How many other 20 year old trucks do you see like that? A BedRug is money in the bank.

I've had a BedRug for 8 years for all the reasons previously mentioned. Will never have another truck without one unless they quit making them.

I've had a BedRug since 2017, just put one in my 23. I love it! I haul around bicycles and watersports gear and camping stuff and it's perfect. I got the full liner again, and it was a pain in the ass to get around the canister for the Retrax, but I'm going to leave it until I need to remove it then decide whether or not to just use the bottom portion...

Just make sure you have a lot of adhesive promoter- the 3M velcro stickies don't play nice with the plastic beds, nor do they with LineX.

If you clean the bed liner with denatured alcohol and then heat with a heat gun a bit, the velcro pads stick very well.

    Will add toneau cover.
Bedrug makes kit #BRZSPRAYON, recommended to improve adhesion to trucks with spray on liners. It costs about $20.

    Lots of stuff!
I have one with the tailgate part as well. It has a big floppy hinge like section, connecting the tailgate to the bed, that seems sort of strange but it does a great job of keeping things from sliding around. It is also very light so you aren’t adding more weight and reducing the payload very much.

I'm running a bedrug in my 23. I don't trim the top where it tells you to, instead I use the rails to fasten the rug to the bed. I also fasten the tie down hooks from the outside as well which holds the rug perfectly. I'm basically only using Velcro on the bed floor, bottom of the bulkhead, wheel wells and tailgate. Makes for a really clean install that will last through the Texas heat.

Here ya go. This is a pic from one of older build thread posts. Been running my BedRug for about 6 months. I got the BedRug XLT that covers the tailgate as well. Highly recommend.

Loving mine!! SOOOO much easier on my old knees.

I just got home from a big Costco run. Sat on the cushy tailgate and ate a slice of pizza (okay, two slices) and when I got home everything was in the exact same place as I put it. With the plastic drop in liner I had before shit would've all slid up against the cab first time I hit the brakes.

I don't have a Gen 3, but I had a full Bedrug in my 2005 (no liner) and a Bedrug mat with a tailgate mat in my 2014 (OEM spray liner).
No adhesion issues with the 2014 with the liner, but I hear the Gen 3 spray liners are kinda flakey.

I'd never have another pickup without one.
It's a knee saver and holds things in place.
Both my 2005 and 2014 had/have bed covers.

    The 2005 full rug.

    Bedrug4_b7058777cf59e8ce62a345d06dcb969dbab5bbae.jpg Bedrug3_ac62f5c84f35c72aed49a85205c6efab574c1752.jpg

I accidentally drove my 2014 for 15 miles with the tailgate down and my tools sitting on it and they never moved..:eek2:
I was in the middle of helping a friend with something and ran to Walmart, I forgot the tailgate was down.
The bed mat and tailgate mat are both easily removed and reinstalled if one has the need.
It is also great for tailgating.

I was looking for a topper years ago for my 2016. Someone close had a used bedrug for $50 so I grabbed it. It was in my bed for 4 years and I kinda took me by surprise how great it was. They are recycled plastic so they don't hold water and you can use a power sprayer to clean them. And stuff just doesn't slide around. If I had one complaint is that it doesn't do well with wood. Splinters get in the fibers and are hard to get out.
I just put one on my 2023. About had a heart attack at $175. I looked for alternatives but nothing came close. In my search I found the Bedrug mat. It 2'x4' and meant to be used like a creeper but without wheels. Best $40 I ever spent and it was here the next day from Amazon. Used it when I replaced my running boards. Kept me off the ants in my drive and wasn't hot like the concrete. I just leave it in the bed.

You won't regret purchasing a Bedrug. I also highly recommend the mat. You will lose about half an inch of you have a cover. IMG20230613194449.jpg

My bed rug came with double-sided tape, but it recommended not installing it in temps under ~65°. Well, I got the rug when it was about 0°F and I never ended up installing the tape.

I find it very convenient to be able to easily remove the rug and smack it to get all the debris off. I have my tonneau on almost 100% of the time, though.

I never use the tape either with my tonneau covers which are almost always closed. And when the cover is open there will be something big in there to hold the bedrug down anyway...

Mine is sitting in the box in my garage. I am waiting for the tonneau cover to come in first. Did you install this under the rail attachments?

Yes, under the front rail and side rail brackets. I also waited for my cover as well to install both at the same time.

I cut small holes for the lights and power outlet, and trimmed off a little at a time so I could tuck the excess behind. I'd recommend taking pictures and marking where the holes are for the bed rails, tiedowns, and drains, so you can punch through the liner with an awl or small screwdriver before bolting them in.

edit: I also had to adjust the tailgate catches out more to compensate for the thickness of the liner, as it wouldn't fully latch afterward.
