What are some of the best lifts around 2” that include rear leaf springs for a 2.5 gen? Been wanting the Dobinsons lift for quite some time now but I think it’s closer to 3”.

    1. are you wanting to lift the rear 2" as well?
    2. budget?
    3. usage?

This will help the most knowledgeable folks steer you in the right spot.

    1. Yes, will need to lift the rear an equal amount (or close to it) to maintain the factory rake. Can then use Roadmaster RAS to get an extra inch or so, as needed.

    2. No limit to budget at this point.

    3. Mostly on-road, but want the look of a slight lift and ability to bump up to 34" or 35" tires (it has the factory 32" tires on it currently).

With my 200 lb. camper shell and 200 lb. DECKED system, I really think I need a kit that replaces the factory leaf springs. Nothing crazy, but something slightly beefier back there. The Dobinsons kit checks this box, but I wish it gave a bit less than a 3" lift.

With that much weight over stock can you confirm the Dobinsons kit will still yield the advertised 3" lift?

400 lbs. ain't that much in the bed, plus I was planning on using the RAS to gain an additional inch or so in the rear if I need to.

It's enough to sag but yeah the RAS should negate it.

I'd look at assembling from parts and multi company. Fox 2.5 w/ or w/o resis (depending on your wants/needs) will get you nicely 2" up front. Alcan or Deaver leaf packs. And while fox doesn't have anything for the rear that will accommodate 2" lift, maybe Bilstein or King does. OME rear Shock absorbers might accommodate 0-3" im unsure. That way you could maintain the rake, have a pretty plush but sturdy ride where you need it.

Hmmmm. So really no companies offering kits for a minimal amount of lift? Why does everyone want to go sky high with these things? Everything I've read says 2" is about as high as you should go.

Bilsteins on the middle clip, 1.9in setting might be a good option for the front for you. I have been really happy with my 5100s

I appreciate that. I keep reading so many different things about the Bilstein shocks. Some love em, some hate em. Hard to know till you try it, I guess. Remind me...those are the ones that require you to reuse your stock coil springs, right?

I just bought a Toltec/Eibach lift that'll do about exactly that; have yet to put it on though.

I believe this is it: The site says it's backordered, but I *believe* that they have some of the stuff in their backup warehouse, so they shipped the stuff same day. :)

My requirements are same as yours, I believe - mostly on-road, with some minor off-road; and wanted the ability to bump up to 33.5" - 34" tires.

    Too many, but not enough....
I used Eibach coilovers up front for 2 inches, and for the rear I used CB +3 shackles and RAS for a total of 2.5 inches in the back. I also carry about an extra 200 lbs in static weight in the back. You could do CB +2 shackles and it will give you 2 inches in the back. No leaf springs though.

Running the OEM TRD Fox kit plus RAS HD. Static load of 300+ lb in the bed (retractable bed cover, house battery, axe & shovel, and a Plano trunk full of tools). It looks like the factory rake to me, just a couple inches higher. This pic isn't the best, but it is current:

it depends which model you go with and how you order them. 5100's are lighter duty and can be ordered set up with springs OR the basic kit which is shocks, perches and clips but require you to reuse your springs and top hats. 6112's are considerably heavier duty and can come either set up or shocks, perches, clips and springs and require just the top hats from your old shock.
i've had both and they're a great option for an inexpensive decent lift with 6112's being a better ride IME.
I'd guess people that don't like them are people too cheap to buy what they should be buying and trying to budget lift then expecting perfect results.

My 6112’s at 1.9 have been great, awesome ride quality.

It's probably impossible to beat 6112's at their price point.

Not disagreeing, but fox 2.0’s are currently cheaper and might beat the 6112’s. (Up to 2”)

Looks a little funny but you can fit 35s with no lift if you want. I’m pretty sure I just got about 2-2.5” front lift with the lowest Dobinson option spring (and 2-2.5” in the back with their leafs). The people getting crazy high numbers are using the springs meant for bumpers and/or extra lift (then get 5” or so haha).

Another positive opinion on 5100s up front. Had them installed on stock tires and immediately noticed a “planted” feeling.

Fast forward to 35s and a rear lift… the 5100s were the best bang for the buck.

Icon stage 2 AAL. Just put mine on. 2.5” all around, but it’s adjustable so could’ve just as easily done a 2” lift. Not sure why this hasn’t been mentioned, but yes there are plenty of options to get a 2” lift

Edit: I have 35s as well

I rode in a truck with Fox 2.0. It had quite a bit of body roll. It did soak up minor road imperfections better.
It was plusher off-road for lower speed stuff and washboards, but once you start to pick up speed I feel the 6112 is better.

For the record, I do have 6112/5160, so I obviously have spent the most time with this setup and only 1 ride on Fox 2.0.

“Tyger” bolt ons. Came with the truck when I bought it. I’ve only had it a couple weeks so it’s possible the original owner threw them on there. I’ll most likely change them out for something higher quality and with a solid plate for my kids to step on.
