    Hi Guys and Gals-

Was wondering what everyone uses. Am leaning towards Lucas products at the moment? This is my first Toyota, but have had good luck with the clog removing power of drano in the past.

I've used BG product 44k since about 2010 on Every Oil change but I always use chevron or shell fuel. My 2008 has 164k miles and no issues since new.

I agree with Rica25. Plus, a Shell engineer recommended BG 44K Platinum as the best. I would assume a Shell engineer who determines the additives that go into Shell gas would know. I follow his advice.

X2, BG 44K is a top of the line ( cleaner) , and rather expensive. Seafoam cleans and lubricates whereas BG 44K specifically cleans. Your Tundra will love you using either one:D

Nothing but Chevron fuel goes into my Toyota, WS6 and Acura. Always been and always will.
Best Damn gas you can get.
There's a reason every auto manufacturer uses it for testing for the EPA.
The WS6 has 160K on her and that engine is tight (2000).
I have a rule I use when I think of using cleaners.
If you think your engine needs it, pull the injector(s) and get new ones then change the fuel your using.
A good high speed run on the freeway for an hour or so does wonders for carbon elimination.

I'll keep it a secret that all gas is the same.

Chevron, when it gets picked up at various truck filling units, adds a unit of techron. very dilute.

Any tier 1 gas is GTG.

    Costco performs nicely.

I had Costco 93 octane gas when my Harrop was installed & dyno'd. no knock detected.

    YMMV.

For the record, I add a bottle of techron every blue moon. to ward off any demons.

You shouldn't need any cleaning additives As long as you are using "top tier" fuel . Most of the time its the marketing for these products that puts the thoughts in peoples heads that their engines are all gummed up which is completely untrue

About every 25k, two cans of Berrymans chemtool in about 15-20 gallons of gas, 1 hour on the highway at about 80, then just run it down under normal conditions. Never had a fuel injector problem here in more than 1.5 million miles of travel. PCV catch can keeps the intake valves nice and clean too. Always run 100% pure top tier gasoline if possible, usually possible.

I too use Lucas oil, and have for years. I have someone very close to me that has worked at the headquarters in Corona, Ca for many years, and he is fully committed. He says they are so passionate about there product and research, I guess it's just a matter of preference. I am sure there are many great products and beliefs, you just gotta pick yours.

Agreed , a good highway run , or towing at highway speeds is a good way to clean out those catalytic converters.
On the other hand , On port injected engines the fuel injector is constantly cleaning the intake valves , Installing a PCV catch cans are a waste of money on a naturally aspirated engine.

I have never seen a fuel injector problem on any car 2000+. Older 90's stuff, yes. The best advice for maintaining a clean fuel system is purchasing fuel from high turnover gas stations, like Costco for instance. There is a Costco by me that receives 2-3 double tanker loads of fuel per day so you can be sure that the fuel is fresh and the tanks are clean.

What brand of fuel you use does not matter. I learned from a tanker driver years ago, Chevron, Shell, Costco, or whoever; they all get their fuel from the same place. That place is whoever has the 87, 89, or 92 that day. But yeah, places like Chevron do dump a bucket of additive into there tanker when they fill their trucks up.

Techron every May and October, that's about every 11,000 and top tier gas.

I use Chevron techron the tank of gas before I do an oil change. No reason why other than it helps me remember to do it at the same interval.

Also…I only run top tier gasoline.

Here's a site where you can buy Techron in large quantities.
You can calculate if it's financially profitable for you to make your own Chevron gas.
Just go to Amazon, they sell just about any quantity you want.
Comes out around $10.66 a bottle though in six packs.
I wouldn't use a bottle every fill up but you could do half a bottle every fill up.

Use good quality fuel consistently and you don't need it. Top Tier is nice if you can find it. Otherwise I try to use fuel stations that are always busy so I know fuel hasn't been setting in the tanks a long time or haven't been contaminated somehow. I use a Dillon's store (Kroger) nearby On the road, I look for busy stations like truck stops. Don't care if it is a couple cents more. The Dillon's is the busiest station near me and I know if there is problem with their fuel, so many people would be affected it would be shut down pronto until it is fixed.

I go thru a couple of tanks of E85 at about 500 miles before my oil changes. It's cheaper then a gas fillup and WooHoo to the Horse Power!! The byproduct being a cleaner steam type even helps clean the black soot out of the tailpipe from our rich running Tundra's.

For people who claim "I use X product and it works well". How could you know it's working? I've used Seafoam in our vehicles for years but it's not like I'm getting any feedback it's working. Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical these products do much of anything and tests I've seen on Youtube seem to back this up.

I use top tier fuel, Costco usually, and several tanks between oil changes I throw a bottle of Gumout/STP concentrated injection cleaner in tank. Never had an issue with clogged injectors in several cars and many miles driven. doing nothing may also yield same results…
