My RCI skid plate, Fumoto, oil filter cap, etc. arrive next week in time for my 30,000 mile change. What’s the best filter for these trucks? And where do you get it: dealer, Amazon, Walmart, NAPA, etc?

    Thanks!

I was using OEM filters which are fine but now using Mobile 1 High Performance Filter
from Advance Auto on sale for $13. I know you have O'Reilly's up there that had decent sales from time to time or you could just order some filters from your nearest Toyota dealer.

OEM TRD (the ones with the metal cap) filters for me. Bought a pack of 8 for like $38 or something on sale.

I use the regular oem filters from my local dealer. I would use wix without hesitation though.

I still have the original filter on mine. At 40K miles it still works just fine. The trick is to tap it with a hammer to make sure it's on there nice and tight.

Just kidding...I have the pre-paid Toyota Care til 75K, so whatever brand Toyota is using is what I'm running.

I use OEM filters, the dealer is right down the road and they are cheap, around $5 or so. I have not tried the TRD version but maybe some day I will, my second choice would be wix.

I was using Wix, but used OEM this last time. I didn't get the smaller O ring with the Wix, for the drain cap on canister. I got it with the Toyota.

Wix makes many OEM filters (volvo, ford that I remember) and Sears, Penski, NAPA, and probably a bunch more now. I know, I made them at Wix back in 1977 their plant in Gastonia NC, I-85 and Bessemer City Road.
I don't think you will go wrong with any Wix product. The have very strict OEM specs to follow. and good quality control, at least back then.
