Well my fuel pump left me on the side of the road today. After 350,000 miles I can’t really complain except for the fact I got towed home by my fathers Jeep. Are there any good aftermarket pumps out there or should I just stay with an OEM pump?

I would just buy another OEM unit. How great can the savings actually be?

I really was thinking more of a higher performance pump not saving money on one.

Check dirty deeds site. He has/had a high performance fuel pump on there for our 1st Gens. Call him and get it dialed in first before ordering.

I would go straight to Toyota for a new one.
I made the mistake of replacing the fuel pump on my Tacoma with one from Autozone. Thank god for their warranty because it needed to be replaced 3 times in 2 years. Almost left me stranded at Buck Island on The Rubicon. :eek2: That would have been a nightmare.
I put an OEM Toyota one in after the fourth one shit the bed. I just couldn't trust my trusty ol toyota with that thing in it.
As for High-performance.. I don't think it would at all be useful unless you have a supercharger.

I looked this morning on his site and the pump is no longer there. I’d call him anyways as he has a 1st Gen and likes helping others out. Might even dial you in on where to buy.

Interesting timing...I just was on the URD website recently and they have a higher-performance fuel pump kit with external filter for about $165. Might be something to look into instead of an OEM unit at $575 (ish).

I'm with scuba on this one. A higher volume pump won't do anything, unless you got FI or n2o. There's just not enough bolt ons available for us to warrant more fuel.

If you feel like disassembling everything Denso has a pump kit for around $100.

You'll reuse everything from your old assembly besides the pump, and strainer.

Drop the tank. I had it out when I did my suspension so I know the bolts will come out and easily.
