I'm in the rust belt and going on my 4th year with my Tundra. Would like to try to keep ahead of the rust (not possible) but what is the best at slowing the rust down? I do wash it once or twice a week and it seems to have helped. Compared to the big 3 of same year.

What is everyone using to clean the under body rust? wire brush maybe a nitto kohki Jet chisel? I'm not at the scaler level yet.

I have rust bullet and may try that but what others?

Have your truck sprayed with KROWN once a year. Did on my 16 and no problems. Just had my New 20 sprayed a week ago.

Type "Fluid Film" in the search bar. Loads of info on it.

I used to have a '97 F250 with the peeling Ford paint. The top of the roof was almost completely surface rusted with some pitting. I sanded it off pretty well and hit it with rustoleum. a few months later it rusted again. I sanded that off and painted it with Eastwood Rust Encapsulator. Four years later when I sold it, it was still rust free. I never top coated it with anything. My truck was white, so I used the white one.

They have some other products that may work better for frames.

I encapsulated rust on the frame of a Bay Boy Buggy with POR-15. That is the meanest stuff on the planet. And turns out it will encapsulate skin so wear gloves if you don’t want to carry it around with you for weeks. Look it up on you tube.

Used POR 15 on my Tacoma which already had alot of rust. Seemed to work pretty good. Because my Tundra was in better shape initially I just sprayed trouble spots with Rust-Oleum an then invested in an undercoating "kit" made for Woolwax and or fluid film. Came with a spray gun an a few attachments made for fluid film application using an air compressor.. I sprayed the whole underside an in the frame ECT .. The Woolwax is thicker then fluid film an no nasty smell.. I'll respray every year. The kit makes it alot faster an was only about 100 bucks. Now I can buy the fluid film in bulk...

Grease frame body rub with 2 tubs of auto store Moly-b Grease using a sponge will last forever. Takes a full day DIY.

Also, spray PB Penetrant up in the C-Frame to get into all those folds and crevice welds that most other frame treatments aren’t designed to do. Do this once a year. One can and it takes about 10 minutes.
