Best skid plate to replace stock?

So I have an odd opportunity to 'upgrade' my 2019 Platinum skid plate with the insurance company paying for a stock/OEM replacement. I will just have to pay the difference. A couple of questions though:

    1. Does anyone know if replacing your skid plate with an aftermarket one voids your warranty?

    2. If I'm willing to go away from OEM (like not stock/crappy one I had, not TRD), which one of the aftermarket options is 'best' and why? Not looking for flashy per se, just effective protection (and easy enough oil change access).

Might as well upgrade instead of going stock on this one I figured!

    Thanks for the input.

RCI. Very nice plate and I think their current wait time is only 2 to 3 weeks.

Changing the skid plate will NOT void your warranty.

I just ordered an RCI from a third party vendor with a wait time of 4-6 weeks. Day after I ordered I received an email it was being shipped. Posted the price and name of company in a recent thread.

RCI is awesome stuff. Even nicer, I'm close enough to drive up to their shop and pick stuff up :)

It was probably stock from a canceled order.

The rear cats still look somewhat accessible even with the "wings".

looking at them right now, probably be my 1st of March order as i'm hustling to pay off all the things I bought the last 3 months since I got her, I think i'm up to or around 6k-8k in add ons/mods and here's the cats from the rear with and they are a pain to access because when I had to tighten the bolts from the top I had to do all kinda gymnastics to get up on top with a wrench to hold the fastening nut while using my other hand to ratchet them

I hear one might need a Fumoto oil valve with nipple for hose in addition to the skid plate to avoid oil draining onto the plate during changes. Guess the same could be said for the filter area through the plate door.

When I looked at the list of options, a skid plate was listed for my 2020. I asked if the truck came with one and he said the TRD plate was an option.

Oh Okay. Someone further up had said the SR5 doesn't come with any skid plate. Two of us were responding to that.

So, if I get the front and rear RCI ones - I'm covered for the cats too? I'm just trying to figure out what the most protection is for the 2020. I have the sr5 4x4 and it looks empty down there.

The RCI rear skid has the cat guard option. I don't know how much coverage there is with them on the 4x4, but it is better than nothing at all. I have actual cat plates on mine. Others with the RCI cat guards will chime in.

You would need to add the cat shields to your cart. RCI often has great sales(almost always) where they will throw in the free cat shields if you purchase the full skid kit plate package(front+rear)
