My truck has 305/55r20s and I am going to need to replace them soon so I am shopping around. I want to keep the all terrains but looking for something that leans more to road way. What do yall run and what are your suggestions?

    Again, thanks in advance!!

I would check out nitto's or wildpeaks. I have nitto terra grapplers on my taco and love them for on road applications but they don't make them for 20's.

Check CL and FB marketplace. Lots of guys buying new trucks and immediately taking off tires to get bigger ones. I got a set of stock Michelins for $450 a year ago.

Agree with Johnsonman; I’m on my 4th Tundra and a long time LTX user; sold my 2012 TRD DC with new LTX’s and picked up my 2021 Limited DC with Bridgestone 22’s and such a huge difference in tires; when the time comes I’ll go with Michelin’s…. Never had a tire give me all weather confidence like the LTX

Depends on the type of driving you do. I have Bridgestone Duelers because they had the highest mileage rating of what was available. No issues and they work amazingly for what I put them through. 90-95% highway driving at 60+ mile one way trips.

i swear by Michelines for regular cement roads only in California. For my tundra, the pervious owner installed Nitto Terra Grapplers and the seem to have that offroad look, but seem to do pretty good on cement. Even though I don't have their full history on how many miles they've been on the truck i may pick up the same but in a larger size when they wear out.

I am a huge fan of Michelin truck tires especially the Defender LTX, including their previous versions. The are second to none in the AT tire and all season segment in many categories. Ice, moderate snow, slush, rain, mpg’s, smoothness, longevity, consistent performance through the life of the tire, and comfort to name a few. If you don’t need a AT tire just grin and bear the boring looks because you will be smiling when your driving the truck.

I really like the AT2 as well…solid and consistent performer so far. I would love if Michelin CrossClimate 2 in 275/65R17. This tire has really wowed me on my RAV4 so far.

Michelin LTX MS2 Defenders or some variation. Good ride and they last a very long time. They are definitely wimpy looking though, they look like car tires. No frills, but an excellent tire nonetheless.

Pleasantly surprised how they handle in light snow and slick roads too. Somewhat good for economy too, but hey, we have V8's so we know what to expect, or not expect.

I’m on my 3rd set of Michelin LTX AT2’s. I get 60-65K out of a set. Very good all around tire and look somewhat aggressive. I would give them an average rating in heavy snow, but never got stuck. I buy Michelin tires for the same reason I buy Toyota vehicles….RELIABILITY

If you choose Michelin, the M/S is superior to the LTX AT for on road duty. All terrain tires have a harder compound designed to resist rocks and chipping. That can mean slippage on wet starts. They are good but don’t have the tread siping of the M/S. The Defender M/S has excellent hydroplaning resistance too. And honestly the AT is not that aggressive looking anyway.

I had a set of Firestone LE2s that were almost equal and much cheaper than Michelin but in the end I came back to the M/S because I prefer the clean sidewall design.

Check out this Campus Automotive YouTube if you really want to muddy the water. They have awesome tire reviews https://youtu.be/JU1_MuENrB4

I missed the part about wanting to keep AT tires. Maybe the continental AT is your style. Also reviewed by campus automotive and rated highly by consumer reports.
Question for you. Do the 305s rub and do you have a lift? I am hoping to put similar set up on my stock rims.

I have a 2024 Tundra Platinum with the OEM lift system and the original factory tires. I use the truck to pull my cargo trailer converted to tiny house RV. We’re off road for easily less than 1% of our travels. I am OK with the stock wheels and tire size but know that I’m probably looking to change to Michelin Defender LTX, which I had on my Tacoma before I upgraded to the Tundra and really liked. My trailer would be happy if my truck tires were 2 inches larger in diameter (raising the hitch one inch.) But I also know that I have not the knowledge or skill to figure out the ideal size of tire to make that work without undue modification. Is it possible? Anyone out there with better understanding than I?

Definitely check facebook marketplace for stock takeoffs. You can probably find whatever craptastic OE tire comes on truck these days for pennies on the dollar from people that switched to something more rugged.
