Anyone making aftermarket grille's for the gen 3's yet? I'd love to lose the plastic money sucker they have on them now.

Thanks for pointing out the obvious, that big hole is from a 150lbs deer head meeting it about 15mph. Should see what it's azz did to the passengers side lower with the sensor in it, didn't think as flexible as the parts are they would fracture like that.

All the grille options are cheap flimsy ABS plastic, haven't like that about any of the Toyota's the last 15 years, these gen 3's are beyond flimsy. Any good bump and that $600 louver behind is gone too.

I'll have to look at the greenie, it's at least metal..

Looks like you need a quick trip up north to grab my TRD grille that is sitting in a cool dry place waiting for you :)

Or what about an aftermarket metal bumper with a hoop? I don't know if there are many options for the 3rd gens yet but just saw that RCI has a picture of one on their site but doesnt have it listed for sale in the 3rd gen section. Maybe they are still working on it? :monocle:

Edit: Looks like CBI makes one that should give you protection from deers.

Fab Four Vengeance Pre runner style coming in a few days. Still issues with the front I found on that 5k road trip I'll be working out during all this. Needs more long range lights, a screen of some sort behind the grill to protect the intercoolers and the radiator. I found several spots debris had hit and there's been posts in several forums with people having lost them to hits. Had to call the windshield chip repair 3 times during the trip.

They don’t even make aftermarket grills for the 18-21 tundras. Once Toyota started implementing the pre collision system in the grill, no aftermarket company wanted the liability of their product causing a malfunction in the system and causing a crash.

Is the grille on Platinum or Capstone any better? My brother in law just picked up a ‘24 SR5 with TRD package and I couldn’t believe how cheap and flimsy the grille is.
What a massive difference from the previous gen.

The Capstone and Platinum grilles are stiffer than the other grilles but then you are faced with having chrome on them. Personally I think the Capstone grille looks the best if you could de-chrome it.

Not everybody has the chrome aversion that seems to have taken deep root everywhere, I'm tired to tears of blacked out fad, my harley hobby has worn me out on that, we used to call that shit primer, now they are paying a premium for it. Love to lay my hands on the smoked chrome version if another ever pops up. Facebook is crawling with scammers for any gen 3 grills, doubt 10% are legit. Oh there are a couple outfits doing a wrap for the chrome grills I've seen advertised, no idea legit or not.

Im not a big fan of all the chrome that came with the truck and eliminated 95% of it.
It seems there aren't enough support brackets and thickness to most of these massive grilles are skimpy.
This grille has definitely grown on me, and I think the amountof chrome is proportionate and love the overall appearance :D

That was me till Bambi showed me just how much cheesy plastic there really was on it, once the paint got scratched it was game on. :D

Did few mods while in there, did not like seeing dents in the radiator where crap had hit two of them so I did a screen mod between the grille & shutter system. Hot glue gun alum strip for supports and a little creativity I like the results.

Great idea on the screen to protect the radiator, so the question is did you gut it take it home and hang it to dry?:headbang:

Road trip, out in Wyoming. Didn't kill it just pushed her hard into the other lane, flashers on, 3 of us, I'm digging my .38 out and another car came hauling around us and splattered deer over two lanes, never even slowed down kept going, had to have torn up the undercarriage on that car.
