I took my 2012 DC in for a routine oil change and the shop is recommending a 90,000 mile preventive maintenance check including the usual fluid and bits and pieces inspection. I agree with all except a few minor items. The big question is the 100,000 mile checkup. They're recommending adding something called "BG ATF cleaner", allowing it to circulate, then drain, and refill with "BG Fully Synthetic ATF" (12 qts) along with "BG ATF Conditioner". I've always been leery of automatic transmission flushes. Far too many have led to transmission failure. Have any of you heard of the BG ATF products? Good? Bad? Indifferent?

Stock. No tow package, 4:10 gears
Never heard of it. If it was me I'd drain the oil, change the filter, and refill back. No flushes or extra chemicals.

Don’t know about the BG products trans flush, but I’d go back to them asking what the warranty was when your trans craps out after the flush. Only additive I’ve added to any of my cars over the past 20 years is some Berrymans fuel additive or Seafoam to the gas tank....Although I did try some marvel mystery oil in a Taurus I had to try and help a sludge issue....sold the car for $1500 on eBay with the issue well stated to the buyer.

The BG system flush is the best you can get for the truck. It will probably be $225-300 just for that service.

I did it on my Cruiser every 30k. Drove like a champ after every flush. Had 346,000 miles on it when I sold it, still strong.
