I have 2018 tundra crew max with rough country 2.5 level kit. Was wondering what’s biggest size tire I could install on stock 18 inch rims

With the stock wheel offset (+60) I'm thinking a 295/70r18. A 285/70r18 would fit nicely but you are limited on choices in that size.

I'm in the market for the same set up now with the RC 2.5, I was thinking of going 295/70/18 but not 100% if they would fit with the stock 18''

    295 70 18s work with the stock 18s I ran them for a bit on a 2.5” level

Just front mud flaps and a little
On the inner fender. Which is the same with most aftermarket wheels with lower offset. I’ve ran stock wheels,+20 offset wheels,+18 and now 0 all had the same rubbing. Just those two minor parts. Easy fixes

I put 275/70/18 General Grabber X3s on my 2019 Tundra DC 4x4 with bilsteins all around with 2.5" lift in front. Tires rubbed a little so had to take off front mud flaps, loosen the bumper and they only just slightly rub when turned all the way and reversing.

I believe the stock 18” are +60 offset, so with just the front level with 2.5 I can pull off 295/70/18 and all I have to do is take off front mud flap and push the inner plastic liner forward is that correct? thanks

It's been said a few times, but on stock Rims (i'm on the TRD off road wheels), 295/70R-18 is one of the biggest sizes without "significant" cutting, meaning body mount chop (BMC).

However, I did have to trim the skid plate and remove the front mud flaps (didn't like them anyways...)

I forgot to mention my new wheels were a 0 offset so that probably plays a part in it rubbing. If it was +30 or maybe on a stock wheel it might not rub at all.

Everything I've seen says 275/70r18's will fit on stock 18's at stock height with no issues. So I'm assuming the 0 offset is what caused the rubbing. Truck looks great btw!

I have 295/70 R18s on Cooper AT3 XLTs. Also added 1.25" wheel spacers which made the rubbing worse. Had to remove the small front flap, use a heat gun to shape the front liner approx. 1/2" toward the front fender caps, used heat gun to also take some bend out of the mud flaps, and trim the "ears" off the skid plate:

As do I. I was clearing old bookmarks off my iPad a while back, and @xtyfighterx ’s build thread is still there from when I first got my black one in 2017.

My 275/70/18s rubbed on my aftermarket +10 offset rims....so yeah, offset plays a big part. As does how aggressive the tire tread is. I'm running Falken's, which I've read are a bit oversized according to specs.

Bottom line....you'll never be 100% certain, until you have them on your truck. Even the same truck, same setup, can differ from truck to truck.

That's the look I'm aiming for, do you have a level of 2.5 in front to make that tire size fit ?

Truck looking nice! thanks for the info on how to cut and bend.

I think the 295’s on stock Toyota wheels are really close to rubbing the UCA.

So not only am I getting the level from RC with 2.5 in the front, I'm planning on getting the K02 in 295/70/18 (stock rims). My 1st choice was the falken wildpeck at3 but I did read they are bigger then most tires and it will rub on the sway bar area ?

It may rub a few places.

Here's a crazy thought....don't try and get the largest most biggest gigantic tire possible. o_O

There is no guarantee, even if Joe Internet Forum member tells you it won't rub....it may still rub.

Many Thanks for the compliments. I have the TRD Pro Fox suspension, which is approx. 2" lift for the front and no real level change in the rear. However, I added a 1" shackle, but it actually lifted the back about 1.5". It's worth a few extra $ to get a good heat gun with good air and temp control. I first removed the small front flap. Then I used a sharpie to mark the front liner at both extremes of the tire rubbing point. I turned the wheel to give me the most access, evenly heated the liner to soften the rub area, and shaped the front liner (closest to the bolted area on the bumper cap) in about 1/2" using a small plastic dead blow hammer. I also heated the mud flaps to take some of the bend out where the tires were rubbing mainly at full turn in reverse. I removed the skid plate and used a side grinder to trim off the outer "ears" where the tires rubbed too. Painted cut area with flat black and good to go!

For me, on the Cooper 295/70 R18 there was probably 1/2" between the tire side wall and UCA. I planned on installing wheel spacers anyhow so it never was much of a concern. If you do spacers, I think 1" is as "thin" as you can go without the rear studs protruding through, based on my research. I have 1.25" spacers now, but will soon replace with 1" BORAs and may consider small fender flares as I don't like the tires throwing crap all over the side of my truck. :annoyed:

Ok, so here a update. Did a lot of thinking and went with a different level kit. But still going with the stock 18 and also 295/70/18. I just order the tires which are the falken wildpeak at3w which I could not had pass up on a sweet deal. Amazon is having a crazy sale on them right now for $225 per tire if anyone is looking. I'm also not going with the RC 2.5 anymore and will be going for a 3/1 pro comp level. Will post up pic and update when I get all this stuff next week. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who help out with info.

Just got it done today. Love how they ride and super quiet too. 3/1 level with falken wildpeak 295/70/18 on the stock wheels.
