Seeing these pop up online and was wondering if anyone has em yet.

Seems as though they are sold by individual corners. Searching them by part number(s) has shown the fronts for just under 1k each on a few online shops.

May have a bit more responses by putting this thread in the “suspension” sub forum.

I really like the idea behind these shocks. Have been debating about putting the Pro Fox shocks on my Platinum, but think these are superior at the same price point.

Your Platinum would be happy with these. What's not to love?

Looks like bilstein is trying to compete with icon, fox, king. But at 4K total for all 4, they way overshot it. I wasn’t too impressed with my 6112s and wouldn’t pay that much for bilsteins. Price should probably be half that.

Before my Tundra PRO, I was driving a 2015 Tacoma TRD OR and hated those Bilsteins. I finally found a guy that had a new 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro and removed the PRO suspension. I paid him $1100 for the FOX TRD PRO suspension, slapped those suckers on my truck and oh man what a difference. Sold my Bilsteins and recovered some money. I really like the ride quality of the FOX TRD shocks.

One started leaking after less than 6 months. Bilsteins “lifetime” warranty is awful. The whole thing left a bad impression on me. The ride quality wasn’t anything special.

Bilstein been in the shock business for quite some time though so hopefully they deliver.
Let's see what the street price will be. MSRP is up there.

I was talking to a Bilstein rep about these at the 4WP show in Dallas last year. He was pretty pumped about them and the features and benefits sounded great!
I'd love to see them in action, and if they can run with the likes of Fox, King, Falcon, and etc.

You're comparing apples to oranges, these are internal bypasses (or position sensitively valved one way or another). No one makes internal bypasses for the tundra (maybe the TRD Pro ones are but I've never seen that confirmed). For reference, an off the shelf IBP from king for one shock is $1000+ and is not an off the shelf option for the Tundra. For another point of reference, King sells a 4 shock kit for my UTV and it's $6000 and you could argue is comparable to what these Bilsteins claim to be.

These are not meant to compete with bottom of the barrel Kings and Fox's, these are gunning for the most advanced technology shocks which no one else even offers a bolt in competing product.

TRD OR suspension is not in the same league as the Pro suspension. Apples to oranges comparison

I never said bottom of the barrel. I said they are trying to compete with icon, fox, and king. You confirmed that king makes a comparable shock. Fox TRD Pro shocks are internal bypass and cost $1000 less for a set and are tuned specifically for the tundra. No matter what your UTV shocks cost, it’s still overpriced for a bilstein.

EXACTLY, that's why I got rid of that crap and replaced it with TRD PRO stuff. Whomever bought that Tacoma of mine got a nice truck, decked out with TRD Pro suspension and Sumo Springs.

Well he completely wrote off the chance to sell me something right then and there (because I was looking for suspension at the time) to explain why it was worth waiting for what didn’t technically exist yet from them, or go after the high dollar OME setup at the booth across the way.
For what it’s worth he was about the only one that was pumped at that show. It must’ve been near their last stop, most other brand reps looked pretty beat down

You didn't say bottom of the barrel, but you also listed brands that don't make bolt in bypass options so I assumed you were referring to their Tundra options which are pretty standard aftermarket shocks. What you want to call over priced is up to you, Bilsteins high end off-road shocks (like their blackhawk bypasses) are often considered to be very high quality. And you're taking what I said out of context, King makes internal bypasses but you're not getting one that's a bolt in option for the Tundra and the same goes for Fox aftermarket; maybe a better point of reference is King bypasses for a Raptor cost $6200, and is close to the target that Bilstein looks to be shooting for. The only apples to apples comparison is arguably the TRD Pro shocks (which saying those are specifically tuned for the Tundra is no different than the Bilsteins). I don't know the specs of the TRD Pro shocks, but I would not be surprised if the Bilsteins are higher performance plus I thought the TRD Pro shocks were hard at best to even get a hold of.

$4k for a set of internal bypasses that are the only aftermarket option does not seem crazy to me, but to each their own.

Me too. I have loved mine. They’ve withstood my torture for 5 years and I think they rode great on and off road, especially for the price.

IIRC, didn’t Toyota run a prototype 8112 on the Tundra when they ran and won their class in the Baja 1000 a few years back?

I’m sure the 8112’s are a quality product. Valving will determine how well they work.

I know the 5100 6112 are digressive, I'd imagine these 8112s be as well. Would be why some people do not like and complain about the ride from their bilsteins. Not everyone's a fan of digressive valving.

I love Bilstein products and have run them for years on trucks and sports cars. For my Tacoma I went with the 6112/5160 combo and was very happy because I like a digressive shock. In my opinion, it allows the truck to handle better on the highway because it is firm in the slow, small movement range, but softens up when hitting larger obstacles off-road. If I was building a dedicated off-roader, I would definitely be looking for a progressive profile suspension, but for a daily driver that occasionally off-roads, I think the Bilstein approach is better. If I had the money, I would run the 8112/8100 combo.

Please correct me as I am probably wrong but dont the Icon and King 3.0s come with internal bypass?

Yes, I am comparing a 2.362" shock to a 3.0" simply due to features.

If so, the pricing for those coilovers and rear shocks is north of about $5200 - 5500 (King 3.0 all 4 corners and Icon 3.0 front and 2.5 rear).

Just pricing Icon 2.5 front RR with clicks and rear bypass 2.5s puts everyday pricing around 3700.

Assuming $4000 is MSRP, for those wanting the tech and a digressive shock, these could be a viable option vs what's otherwise available. Soon time will show what the everyday pricing will be for the Bilsteins.

    Just my 2 cents.
