So I got my results back

I purchased my truck Oct '23 with 153,000 miles took it to Toyota right after to have it checked and had them change the spark plugs, fluids, brakes and hoses replaced.

Heard about this on YouTube of some customers sending oil to get information about the engine.

I drive about 5,000 a month and recently changed oil to Mobile 1 0W20 Extended Performance so i'll be sending it again sometime mid next month to see how the report will come out.

This Report is based off Regular Mobile 1 0W20 Full Synthetic @ 190,000 miles

Ive come from '02 Tacoma Reg, '07 XRunner, 04 Tacoma PreRunner and now this Beast!!!! I do like the New Gen Style but having this V8 everytime i drive brings a smile :) and with this report makes me want to keep it till it cant go no more.

I enjoy the customer service writing in the comments of the report making it simple to understand how the engine is doing.

5W-30 would get your flashpoint way up. Great report.

Can you explain "flashpoint" and how a higher weight would help?

Flashpoint is the temperature at which oil ignites and burns.

Thicker oil has a higher flashpoint making it more resistant to ignition and burning. I hope that helps.

How long have you been running 5W30? No odd engine noises?

70k miles. Just the noise of a happier engine.

Flashpoint also increases with fuel contamination of the oil. Sometimes a sign of worn rings in the combustion chamber, or leaky injectors.

I use Mobil1 but I don’t think brand makes a huge difference as long as you’re changing at 5k miles.

I've seen what engines look like using conventional oil versus synthetic, there's a difference..

    Who makes conventional oil still?

Sure - I guess my point was if you go to Walmart or the auto parts store 99% of the offerings will be synthetic in oils that are lighter than 10w-30.

You can find some conventional but seems you have to seek it out. I don’t think anyone has ever made a conventional 0w-20.

My initial point was referring to comparing brands, you can't compare walmart brand oil to mobil1..

I use Kirkland 15-40 in my wake boat. It’s $10 for a 5 quart jug.

It gets changed out every 40 hours of run time.

I’ve got a couple jugs of Kirkland 5w-30 en route for an oil change on the S.S. TRDFerguson. Excited to see if it lives up to the hype.
