After a deer strike on 19 June, I elected to take my 2022 Limited to a Toyota associated body shop. What a mistake. They ordered wrong parts, realized they didn't order all the necessary parts and never appeared organized at any point in the process. The last part they ordered and waited a month for was a bumper bracket...for the replacement bumper. Are you kidding me? They asked for and were provided documentation on the paint protection film and ceramic coating three times but never made arrangements to install it, I have to do that on my own. In an absolute dick move, they called just before they closed on Friday to tell me it's ready for pick-up, which I couldn't do. Final bill $15,351. Dropping off my Hyundai rental and getting my truck back...priceless.

Wow! Sorry about your troubles, man.

    $15K for a deer strike? That’s insane. I need a Bambi bumper….

I can relate… I got side swept after having my truck for two weeks. This was in July. Six weeks ago they got the parts.

after two weeks I could tell they never worked on it from the app. I called and asked how much longer it would be as they quoted me a week. They told me a week. I asked if it was truly a week as that’s what they told me. She laughed and said they tell everyone that.

I contacted them a few times and every time they said the dealer ordered another wrong part.

then it went for the ppf. It was done and back to their shop. I called amd asked how much longer as that was supposed to be the final task. They told me that it was delayed at the ppf shop. I told them I could see it was at their shop. She then said they needed to change a wheel and do a post scan. An hour job. Three days later still not done.

I drove by the shop during my night shift and saw my truck outside. They missed a bunch of the ppf and installed a wiring harness over ,y light bar. And the inside was friggin disgusting!

I called the next day and they said they’d get right on it. I called the ppf and asked about the parts not done and he told me “I thought it was odd they only wanted the bumper redone, and not the grille surround, but I do what I’m told”

no idea when I’ll get my truck back. My truck has spent more days in their shop than on my driveway.

Sorry to hear about everyone's chako..

My dealer scratched my truck, and convinced me to take it to their recommended body shop, the gm from body shop called me to finish the convincing..

There weeks later, they got everything done in a very professional manner, on time. I'm not complaining...

This is my nightmare scenario. How did your dealer scratch you truck? Can you elaborate? Pics?

I have a body shop 2 minutes from my house that services luxury import dealerships, provides excellent service and finishes on time. It is the only place I go for repairs. Find good businesses to work with and hold onto that relationship as long as you can once you do. Seeing a long history to my name in the computer starts to come with benefits

In theory this is a good idea. But a) I’ve only ever needed a body shop once in my life b) I move every few years for work.
