Hey guys, I’m posting here to get some input. Last week I bought a 2015 Tundra Limited 4x4 and was told it has a body lift.. I climbed under it today and started cleaning up. Found Bilstein 5100s front and rear, oversized knuckles on the front. My biggest -Robles is serious rub with the 20’ wheels, which is because the offset is +1mm.

My quandary is that I wanted to lower the truck to a 2-3" lift and run 18"s with 275/70/18s, but am worried that removing this lift isn’t really practical.

here’s some pics, maybe you guys can give me your opinions or ideas….leave it lifted 6" and just get new 20" wheels with +25mm offset, or tell me what I’d need to drop it down to run a smaller set upIMG_0191.jpgIMG_0190.jpg@

for starters get rid of the spacers on the coilovers and the blocks under the leafs and get new u-bolts. Does it have the original front crossmember?

Well it’s a little more complex than that… this is an entire kit.

if it’s as simple as removing that stuff, do I need to go back to stock knuckles or can I keep these large ones? The ProComp 4 and 6" kits say you have to run 20" wheels…

    Welcome!

You have what is known as a drop bracket front lift, when it was installed, the frame crossmember was cut out, and the drop bracket bolted in (underneath) to take it’s place. Going to down to 2 - 3” of lift is either a pretty big undertaking, or impossible, depending on who’s opinion you’re getting, and if you have to pass inspections…

Some Mods :) See build thread for details
Exactly as landphil said. Drop bracket lift. Not reasonable to go back to stock or 2-3” lift. Would need stock cross member and stock knuckles. You won’t be able to get alignment by simply removing the coil spacers.

Yeah I said for starters.... I would need to see the full kit ProComp kit. would need to go back to stock knuckles. If the crossmember was cut you will need that fixed too.... likely too much work and too many parts to replace

When did you buy it, and what state? Most states have some sort of a law in place to allow returns at no cost.

Return it if you can, find another… just my 2 cents.

Why not try an 18" wheel/tire combo on there first before completely dismissing the option ?
It may be close, but I dont see in the pictures where an 18" wheel would make contact or have clearance issues. The tierods may be close but still look doable.
A 37" tire on an 18" rim would look pretty badass with that 6" lift.
If you are anywhere near Atlanta GA I'd be happy to let you try one of mine for fitment. I have Method 18x9's with +25mm offset and 37x12.5 BFG KM3's

That all depends. If it is a Pro Comp lift kit it is either a stage one or stage two. Stage one does not cut out the cross member only a stage two lift cuts out the cross member and welds in a new one.
