I drove it off the lot Friday and when I got home I realized my phone hadn't charged or even maintained. I played music the whole 3 hour drive home with the screen mostly off.

That was through the USB port. I tried a 12v outlet charger today and it worked.

Help? Something I'm missing here? I bought a new mustang in 16 and my Galaxy S5 wouldn't charge through USB. This is an S8 now. So not even two years old.

The usb under the radio is for data transfer or iPod playing if you don’t connect by Bluetooth is not for charging.

I'm dealing with the same thing. My galaxy 9 battery last a long time so rearly try to use the USB charger from the truck. My 2015 camery charges it just fine with the USB.

The plug labeled “USB” port isn’t for charging. It’s just for data transfer. Use one of the other ports. Those are meant for charging.

Well s**t. Mystery solved. I couldn't find anything online before and now with a couple search term changes I see it. And apparently androids are even crappier.

    Thanks fellas.
