Recently bought a 2021 vehicle and I thought someone scratched my vehicle. When the dealership looked at it they said it was normal. It looks like the shield is bubbling off.

The texture is normal. The white is not, if that is part of the paint. Someone else on here has had the warranty cover this kind of issue on a '19 or '20 model.

Mine is 2012 dc. I don’t think your bubbles is a normal thing. Mine is a little dirty from running through water puddles recently but there are no bubbles in my paint or protective film. Good luck.

“Those are normal” is similar to a business putting up a sign saying “Not Responsible for Coats on the Coat Rack”. Just because someone says it doesn’t mean it is true or accurate. In the latter of those two, they are responsible. They put up the coat rack. I’m guessing the film was applied by the dealer (no wonder they get called Stealerships). So they have an interest in explaining it away. They need to correct the issue to your liking and that representative of theirs needs some training.

Welcome to the forum! Not sure, but I do wonder if it may have been affected by heat from the exhaust of another vehicle parked really close to yours. Maybe someone even rolling coal next to you at a stop light, in a parking lot, who knows where. Just a thought. Regardless, not normal.

The protection film just needs to be worked into the orange peel texture. They don't seem to take much time I'm sure making sure the film is pressed into every nook andd cranny on the assembly line. Also with the weather the vinyl can expand and contract cause condensation and so on. I'd let it out in the sun then use a credit card with some felt or soft side of Velcro or some squeegee tool if you have one and press it back into adherence

The paint isn’t damaged. Those are air bubbles under the PPF. I have a few in the same area on my truck. Doesn’t bother me.

Air under the film. Toyota isn’t very good at putting them on. Doesn’t help that they use them over sprayed on stone guard. Stop looking at it and you won’t notice it anymore.

That is the comment I would get too when I asked my uncle who’s the owner of a shop and master tech questions! Haha

Try going after it with a hairdryer to see if you can get the PPF to lay down against the textured finish. Or step up to a heat gun, just be careful you don’t overheat it.

Take it back and have them repaint it... Its only a matter of time before a bigger chunk flakes off.... samething happened to me back in 08... Entire bed was stripped and repainted.

Look closer, it’s bubbles in the paint protection film, not in the paint. Notice in the top photo that the bubbles abruptly end where the PPF stops. At most maybe some new applied properly film in that area
