    Hello Everyone,

I am looking to buy a Toyota tundra, I live in Utah and they are expensive here, i found one that i think is a good looking truck and one of the cheaper ones in my price range. its has 184,000 miles on it, he is selling it for 7,200 with room to negotiate. I am going to look at it soon i hope, i was wondering what should i look for as i am looking at the truck, what should i ask about? IS this even a good buy? is 184,000 really high mileage!?

Sorry for asking a lot of questions.. thanks everyone I appreciate the help!

Just make sure the brakes are new or newer. I went through three pairs of brakes on mine back in 2000.

Do they salt the roads there? Check for frame rust, especially around the leaf springmounts and the sparetire carrier frame. You can do a search the forum for frame rust to see examples.

I live in Utah as well and they salt the hell out of the road here.

It’s due for its second timing belt. See if he’s done that. If he hasn’t, negotiate that into the price and have it done along with the water pump. That’s definitely not high mileage for that engine. And as others have said inspect the frame really well for rust.
