I currently have lost the ability to switch to 4 wheel drive. I received the above errors in my 2007 tundra after several weeks of driving it in very cold conditions with lots of salt and ice on the road. Most of the time I was in 4 wheel high. Bases on other threads I have read I replaced the rear speed sensor and wiring harness to the sensor. Unfortunately this has not resolved the issue. I also have checked the fuses in both fuse boxes (under hood and in cab). Any ideas folks?

    Thanks for your help!

Yes I replaced the speed sensor wire with a factory Toyota replacement.

And when you did the left rear speed sensor, you used an OE part I hope? If the wiring looks good it's not as hard as it sounds to slip the axle out to see if maybe the tone ring has failed and the sensor has nothing to read.

Audiowize, I did not use an OE part when I did the sensor. Do you believe that the sensor could be suspect?

Oh yeah, discount auto parts stores are not exactly known for good quality electrical parts unless you get something that is made in Japan (it will probably cost more than all the other options).

I will look for an OEM speed sensor. In the event that this fixes it, do I need to clear the codes to make all the blinking lights on the dash stop? Or should it just stop blinking once it runs the test and sees that the circuit is functioning? I have a blue tooth OBD2 reader, but haven't really found an app for my phone that I like. Are there recommendations?

The dash light willl likely go off on its own.

I also have a 2017 Tundra with 4HI and 4LO lights flashing, traction control on, ABS on, and i can't use 4 wheel drive. i've replaced the sensor, replaced the rear harness, swapped front sensor to back to ensure the new sensor was good and it is. HELP! PLEASE!!! I keep getting the same code C1333

I would check that sensor and ensure it hasn't been damaged. You may need to pull the sensor and look that it doesn't have excessive grime or debris. Additionally to this you will need to follow most of the wiring to ensure it hasn't been damaged or consumed by rodents at any point. I would pull the wiring diagram on this site for your specific model, but I'm pretty sure they're mostly identical, but I'd go with the specific model and go from there. Check grounds mainly as those will be exposed usually and are more likely to be damaged by corrosion, rocks and other debris getting kicked up.

Any updates? I’m dealing with the same issues and codes. I’ve replaced the rear harness, replaced the axle, and tried 3 different sensors on the right rear wheel.

The battery is new and 12.3 at rest and 13.7 when charging.

For anyone else with these issues - it was the frame harness had melted for reasons unknown. The new harness has been upgraded from the original so it may be more common than thought. The melted part was under the passenger side under the back of the cab.

    The original part# was 82164-0C180
    The updated part# is 82164-0C890

This is for the non-flex fuel. I believe the flex fuel has different wires for the fuel pump
