    Hello,

I have a question regarding a specific cable in my tundra (2008 DC SR5 4x4). There is a cable that is running from the positive side of the battery into the Fuse/Relay box. I cant exactly fiure out what cable that is. I need to replace it because its corroded badly. I found a Tundra part # 82122-0c220; but that seems to be the battery cable harness. ( I dont see that exact cable on there) Does anyone know if it is part of that battery cable harness, or a completely different part? If so, what is the part # for that.

    TY in advance.

Getting into that fuse box is tricky. I've tried and couldn't get in - didn't want to break shit either.

If it's only the terminal that's corroded, then cut it off and replace it with a new one + 3-5" of new cable of the same gauge so it can reach the battery.

Do you what size the wire is? and where I can get something like that? Its more than the terminal unfortunately.

It's either 2 or 4 AWG. You could buy something already premade, chop off one end, then use a butt connector to reattach it to the truck.

    Example:
    https://www.amazon.com/Battery-Copper-Inverter-Automotive-Motorcycle/dp/B0BRXVYBSK?crid=3TBAM2U6Q1EK7&keywords=4+awg+battery+cable&qid=1697726605&sprefix=4+awg%2Caps%2C141&sr=8-3-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1

Edit: you will need an appropriate crimper

Thank you! The terminal itself has the # 608 on it. Is that relevant at all?

Are you having electrical issues? If not, and you're trying to be preemptive, clean it with a brass brush + baking soda/water and then Vaseline it. Connectors can usually be saved for a while. The cable really only needs to be swapped if the corrosion gets in-between the strands and under the jacket.

Yes, I am having electrical issues. I figured if I could swap that out, I should be set.

Yes I would properly fix not just the 608 cable you're mention but also that ugly + battery cable terminal itself. It doesn't look oem to me.

The proper way would be to cut of the cable ends a few inches deep (hopefully you don't have corrosion on the length of the cable). Hydraulic crimp that 608 and the positive cable with new likely 2 gauge cables and new positive terminal. And double heat shrink it. With marine gear waterproof HS.

If you were in Atl. I have all that equipment that would be great to get this work done. Let me know if your close by.

Heck I would swap out all my grounding cables as well to ensure all my grounds are in great condition as well. I can help you to get those grounding cables replaced. Let me know.

If it is a 2008 and is corroded that bad from what we can see most likely it goes on down the cable. I would replace the entre cable if it were me, cutting the ends and replacing is just a bandaid in replace of a surgery.

Fuse box is not that difficult, just a lot of work. Remove the battery and work from there
