Looking to replace the stock calipers with red powder coated calipers on my 21’ trd pro so it looks more uniform in use with the stock rotors. Preferably a bigger caliper, power stop seems the be the exact same thing just powder coated!?… Toyota swears the big brake kit will not fit the 21 and its $3k, anyone replace theirs? Pics?

Just paint your calipers red. You can’t just slap a bigger caliper on there without changing a lot of other parts. And if you’re simply wanting a color change, there is no reason to even take the caliper off the truck to paint it. Otherwise you’re going to have to bleed the entire brake system and then cycle the abs system to get all the air out, which cannot be done at home.

TRD brake kit uses 400mm rotors and will need min 20" wheels to clear.

Sos performance sells a stoptech st60 kit that uses factory sized rotors, which I have, it's good so far.

I had it powdercoated with trd logo myself.

Keep in mind, if you change the calipers to that kit, you’re pretty much limited to only one type of brake pad that is designed for aggressive driving/off roading and having heat put through it. If you’re just daily driving the truck, your brake pads are going to cause deposits and you’ll wind up trashing the rotors in no time from deposits.

I was just checking out the MPG caliper cover site. They do not have the PRO on their sub model menu. Im going to call them tomorow but just wanted to ask the forum in advance if the SR5 is the same setup as the PRO as far as the calipers size and design go???

They are standard st60 shape, which is shared by brembo and ap racing, theres actually quite few compounds available.

I'm still on the first set of "sport" pads after 20k km of daily driving, lots of towing and trail driving, still original rotors without issues.

The calipers are the same across tundra and sequoia, doesn't matter the trim.

Pretty much what I meant regarding heat in the pads. The Sport pads need to be ran hard. Lots of towing and trail driving is what they need to perform optimally. Otherwise, just daily driving will not keep them happy. Already been down that road with the Sport pads and regular daily driving. Wound up going back to oems because I was tired of having to rebed the pads due to ongoing deposit and diminishing transfer layer issues.

It's my personal opinion that the hubs on our trucks aren't the greatest in terms of tolerance.

Seen the st60 kit and Alcon kits used on armored lc200 with tundra rotors and they never had issues, been debating make 2pcs floating oem size rotors for our applications.
