Hey guys I’m going to swapping out my lower control arms and I’m sure my cam bolts will seized like a lot of other peoples and was wondering if I should go with a new stock Toyota set which are pretty expensive or if the spc one’s are fine. I’ll link the ones I’m talking about here Any info would be appreciated

I would go OEM. I've heard mixed reviews on SPC.

Big beef with non-OEM is, as I recall, plastic sleeves.

Not being a part I've had to replace yet, and not having bought any myself, I have to trust the other member(s) who said that.

That's not a part I'd want to have plastic sleeves for, so as long as they're not plastic, I'd probably at least try to save money. Just know, nothing sucks worse than spending half the OEM $$ on a non-OEM part, only to find yourself buying the OEM part later because the non-OEM part isn't good enough to do the job as well as OEM.

I've had to replace the SPC ones with OEM on other Toyota (4runner/Tacoma) vehicles as they wear out and start clunking. And they are lighter than our trucks.

Are the SPC using steel sleeves or plastic? Just looking to fill in a blank on that one.

Remember to coat the CAM sleeves and LCA bushing sleeves in anti-seize so if you ever need to do it again, you won’t have to cut them out.

Don't coat the washers, bushing sleeve ends or the subframe itself. Those need friction to retain your alignment.

If you're wiping out the adjustment off-road, sure.

At that point you'll probably want to reinforce the subframe tabs too. Add some weld along the backside or buy/make the reinforcement/replacement that gets welded on.

OEM cam bolts with a very generous amount of anti seize. the issue with the plastic sleeves is the bolts will still rust.. which ends up causing the sleeve to swell... and well it ends up being a destroyed bolt when it comes out
