Was going to go with JBA UCAs from a positive prior experience coming from the Jeep world. However, these popped up on Facebook marketplace today. The guy installed and then removed and is now selling for a price of $800 (New from Camburg website is ~$1400).

    Link for Camburg UCAs: https://camburg.com/shop/suspension...wd4wd-07-20-kinetik-series-billet-upper-arms/

Here's the reasoning they were removed from this guys truck verbatim:

"Like new. Installed but didn’t fit my 2016 tundra because of my 5 inch Zone off-road lift kit. Was uninstalled without being driven. I found out after I bought it that any arm designed for a 3" kit will not be good for a cross member lift kit which is what I have. as they are designed for stock upper arm ball joint locations. All of the 3" arms add caster and are shorter to compensate for camber change at that height. So if you want this you need a 3 inch or smaller lift kit."

Anyone run them and have any experience? Even at the listed FB price they're still almost double the price of JBAs. Just looking for experience from folks with 3" lifts with Camburgs. Currently deciding between the Boss4x4 Radflo 2.5 and Toytec Aluma 2.5 lifts, both giving 3".

I've been running the SPC UCAs and I love them. Gained a lot of travel, very serviceable, fixed my alignment issues, and the ball joints are easily replaced.
I only mention these because they are close to the price of the JBAs

Yeah I've heard of them just never ran them. Just curious on the Camburgs if their insanely higher retail price translates to a superior UCA or not.

I've done suspension on dozens of Toyotas.
The most common UCAs I install in order are the Icon (billet or Tubular), then the SPC, then total chaos, then camburg.

They are insanely expensive because they are Billet Aluminum.

I'd get new camburg ball joint arms. All the benefits without the annoyance of a uniball squeaking away when it gets dirty, plus are like $600 new.

Where you live, go with SPC. Uniball’s are not good in winter climates. Salt and brine eat away at them causing premature squeaking. That’s what a few mechanics told me. I had SPC’s on my 2018 and they worked great.

I'm not saying camburg is in any way bad. I'm giving my experience.

There are times that having a sealed balljoint vs an open uniball can be the wrong choice such as environment, use or even budget.

I'm also not trying to discredit anyone because I don't know what experience others may have.

$800.00 for a set of billet arms is a killer deal.

Looks great but with Maryland winters, I was afraid they'd need too much maintenance. Winters arent that bad, except road crews throw 1400 tons of salt on the road at the earliest sign of precipitation and I didnt want to deal with that.

Totally understand that., Salt is a pain to keep off. However, that deal is insane. $800 for Camberg Billet uppers, someone will scoop those up!

I have a a set of tubular camburg uniball UCAs on my truck. Had them for about 4 years with 40k miles. I Do about 4-5 snow trips a year. Never had an issue with noise/corrosion. Just make sure you maintain them.

Yeah. He was nice enough to hold my "spot" while others were interested but I had to pass. I've ran JBA on my jeeps for a decade with no issues and easy ball replacement. Going to just run them again.

Yeah no doubt they're great. I just wouldnt want to get them and these roadways tear them up in the winter unnecessarily. Someone else can enjoy them and I'm okay with that :)

    Hi,

I have the Camburg Billet UCAs but don't plan an extreme lift, only 1, maybe 2". At 1-2", would these arms add too much caster, resulting in higher chance for needing a BMC?

    Thank you.

It’s a double edge sword. You’ll most likely clear the body mount, but rub on the front fender at full lock or near full lock. The uca’s will get you anywhere from 4* to 6* castor. Positive castor moves the axle forward.

The wheel offset/ backspacing and width will determine fitment rather than lift height.

Thanks! My wheels specs are 18x9.5 +20 and deciding between 305/65, 295/70, 33x12.5 and a modest lift. I don't want to chop and would like to retain my mud guard. I don't mind removing the front guard and pushing plastic forward though.
