Need more details on the golf cart. Some of the smaller ones might if you keep the tailgate down, but IDK what they weigh. I know one member on here caused some damage to the bottom of his tailgate because of where his 4 wheeler's weight was sitting. His was a 2.5 gen, I think, so the 2nd gen tailgate might have more internal support at the bottom. to handle it.

How often would you need to haul the cart? Trailer rentals are pretty cheap, so if you only need to haul it once to get it to its location of use I would recommend spending the money to rent a small utility trailer.

This. You can rent the small usual for less than $20 a day and it will be easier than trying to lift or drive the golf cart into your bed. If you plan to transport it a lot, might be worth looking into a decent ramp and maybe supports?

It's a four seat with the rear seat facing the rear. At this moment I don't know too much about it. The golf cart is about an hour from me. I'm waiting to hear back from the owner.

That might be too large and too heavy. Not sure. If you can get the spec sheet on it for weight and dimensions that would be your best bet.

Again, if it's a one time move I'd rent the trailer for it. If you are going to have to haul it a lot, then I would look at buying a trailer, or at the very least a set of Mad Ramps.

Golf Cart Weight vs Tundra Payload?

Between the cart, your gear, your passengers and the HD Ramp you'll need to get it up on your truck, I'd guess you'll be over.

Googling your payload is a bad op. Real world payload seldom hits those numbers and with a crewmax you will be on the lower end of that spectrum, especially if your truck is 4x4.

Going off the pic of the one you intend to buy I would bet you are in a lighter cart. Probably 800-900 range, but I could be wrong. Either way, as long as you're not loaded with a bunch of other stuff you are likely ok on payload. I'd still get the specs of both your specific truck (driver door jamb usually has a payload sticker) and the cart you are buying to be sure. Length looks like it'd only fit if you keep the tailgate down. You'd want the heavy end of the cart in the bed, so I would bet money you'll have to back it in.

I've been dumped unloading a 4 wheeler out of a buddy's truck before and it sucked, so I always gravitate toward a trailer. I've got a 12 foot tandem axel utility trailer and it's been well worth the $3000 I spent buying new. Going used you can get cheaper, and probably new as well. I was in a bind and couldn't dicker, so I overpaid a bit.

Width wise I would guess yes..but just barely. Length wise it will probably have the wheels on the tailgate. And yeah these things can weigh 1000 pounds especially with the 6 deep-cycle lead-acid batteries. And speaking of those, this might be overkill, but if you decide to put it in your truck, you might want to protect the floor of the bed from any acid spills. Golf cart batteries are notorious for leaking and dripping. I work at a golf course and our cart parking area concrete supports that statement!

There are a lot of companies that make these.
My buddy has one in his truck for his golf cart.
He has a Crewmax and the cart would be on his tailgate.

Cool benefit is that with this on his truck and when he tows it behind his motorhome he never gets a bill from any toll roads.
They can't see his tag. So it is slowly paying for itself.

I always laugh at these questions… is it really worth it? Do you really want to load that thing over and over again? Trailers have so much more capability both payload and size. If it’s a one time move, just grab a uhaul for like $20-30 and it will be simple and easy… no headaches, no accidental damage.

Just rent a trailer, too much risk is damaging your truck or the cart. Uhaul or similar can rent you one for like 30 bucks out the door.

Buy a trailer.......Been there done that......you really don't want to go through the hassle of loading and unloading your cart every time you want to move it. You can make it fit and it it's not too heavy to load into the bed of the Tundra, but, I loan my friends my trailer before I loan them my truck to move stuff - LOL

I have a 1999 club car ds. Has rear seat kit. I carry mine ona 5x 10 trailer and is every bit of 8 ft long. The weight is mid way to 3/4 back and would be over the tailgate. Would have to have long angle ramps to drive up.
Now looking at the 2022 with 6.5 or 8 ft beds. I’d say no trouble
