Can anyone explain the differences in these two axle shafts?

    PT362-34310
    PT362-34320
which come with the TRD 3" lift kit.

I have seen several companies mention if going over 2.5" lift to use these axles vs the ones everyone talks about getting the OEM TRD Red axles from the offroad and PRO which are part numbers Toyota/TRD Off-Road OEM Red Axles
    43420-0C020, Right, Front, CV Axle
    43410-0C020, Left, Front, CV Axle

See below a pic from Dobinsons where they say to install the ones from the 3" TRD lift kit and not the RED ones from the offroad/pro. Why would that be?

I know the red TRD ones that one side is longer than the other and are way better than the oem black ones. However what is the difference with the ones that come in the TRD 3" lift kit vs the TRD OR/ Pro Red ones? It seems that lift companies are stating that if going over 2.5" which is almost every lift/level they are recommending the ones from the TRD 3" kit not the TRD Red ones. I am trying to find out why.

But I am just hearing about this. I have seen tons of Pro's lifted and they have not swapped their RED axles for the TRD lift kit axles. So what gives?

10-4 was just wondering why anyone would buy the red ones vs just going ahead and buying the silver TRD ones then to future proof yourself. There cant be much of a price difference if you didnt already have the red ones on the truck.

So the TRD ones that can handle more lift is cheaper than the TRD Red ones? Again why wouldn't people who are going from black ones just get the TRD Silver ones then?

Is anyone able to confirm if the red axles are sufficient for say a Dobinson IMS 3/2 lift? I have the red axles and would like to install the IMS kit but am wondering if I need to stay a bit below 3" or if I can safely run 3" with the red axles. Since Dobinson recommends the silver axles I am concerned that the red ones won't be adequate for 3". I will likely reach out to Dobinson as well, but I am curious if anyone runs 3" on the red axles.

Remember to do your brake lines and if you want it aligned you'll have to replace the upper control arms too. Could also need longer sway bar links or sway bar drop brackets, replacement steering stops, and possibly a bracket to relocate the track bar too (optional). Lots of other stuff outside the axles to concern your self with if you're going 3" lift. Take a look at what comes in the TRD 3" lift for reference (Part#PTCCY-34000).

Jeff from Westcott did a good review. The silver and red are the same length, but the silver is a larger diameter. The silver and red are both longer than the black and both bigger diameter.

    A few questions.

    1. Do I require new axles for a 2" spacer lift?

    2. The readylift 3" lift comes with a diff drop. If I have that, do I require new axles for that 3" lift? Dobinson makes it sound like it's an either or. But readylift still recommends the axles because Toyota recommends them.

I had a 2 1/4 inch with black axles worked just fine. And the diff drop should be fine if you go 3 inch but would be better upgrading axles. I just swapped my set up around and installed silver axles.

I have the same readylift 3/2 lift with red axles. I have been thinking of going with the silver axles like recommend with readylift. Have you ever took the truck offroading?

Cheaper axles have car-like tripod joints that don't like angle deviation at all. TRD PRO axles have CV joints, like Tundra used to have in past on all trims.

I would suggest to drive your factory axles to death (you paid for them anyways) and then upgrade to CV.
