I have a 2023 tundra. I’m looking at wheel spacers to fit my stock 7.5Jx18 ET60 wheels. Tow a trailer from time to time. But can wheel spacers affect towing?

    thanks

I’ve been towing heavy with wheel spacers on my 2000 for the last 18 years. No issues. I tow heavy with my 2019 with wheel spacers for the last 2 years with no issues as well.

Lots of success stories here, the way I look at it is you are adding additional failure points to the wheels.

strictly from a failure mode effects analysis standpoint your adding something else to go wrong.

other people talk about excess wear on bearings etc, I haven’t seen a ton of those failures pop up here.

My 2000 with 274k miles needs a front wheel bearing. Could the spacer have hastened it? Could t tell ya. Plenty of folks with similar or less miles have had to replace a wheel bearing or two. It certainly didn’t fail early in life.

From a different perspective, depending on the overall setup and such, you might be throwing more rocks and such at the nose of the trailer which might chew it up more than if the tires were tucked in. Some trailers have cheap materials on the nose, others don't, so I just thought i'd throw that out for further weighing of the pros and cons.
