I got very close after making a left 180 in a test. I will say the unistrut is coming off while I travel. I did have a bike mounted there but now it's the base to hold my fishing rods.

It's OK. A lot of Covid era assembly mistakes but after fixing those we've been very happy with it. Afterall we live in it for 7 months out of the year. Curb weight on ours is 4,178 including propane and battery with a gross of 6,080 and we never get close to that. The Tundra does great. Last fill up between Charleston WV to Salisbury NC was 12.33 MPG calculated

Wow, I would not have thought so, but you gave it a helluva try!

Maybe you need a different set-up.

I have come REALLY close with mine, as I live on a fairly tight cul-de-sac and it is a very, very tight turn to get it turned around so I can back it in to the parking pad.

It will mostly be dependent on truck length and construction of the trailer front end. On mine, I can keep trying, but she will never reach close enough because of v-nose trailer and dclb pickup.

I generally try to avoid SUPER tight turns and maneuvering (on pavement) whenever possible to mitigate the forces exerted on tire sidewalls due to tire scrubbing of a dual axle trailer.

Not always avoidable, and if I gotta' flip a bitch I'll do it, but it is something I keep in mind. Sometimes I'll go around the block to avoid a U-turn.

I removed the unistrut and will try again when I find another gravel spot. I'll have my wife outside as a spotter.

I think it depends on what you're towing. My previous trailer I could turn full lock and not worry about it. The unit I have now I can get very close to touching. Have not tested, but am more cognizant of the problem, based on what I was seeing in the mirror, I believe it could touch.

My sister took out her F-150's tail light pulling out of the driveway with their trailer. My uncle got his tahoe's tail light maneuvering in a campground. Not sure if he was backing up or going forward though.

Adding a pillow to bumper corners usually helps. Cushions the squeeze.

I need to experiment with mine. The answer to the question is going to varey widely with the length of the tongue, any obstacles on the tongue and the distance from the coupler to the trailer axles (trailer's "turn radius")
It's possible to design a trailer that cannot be jackknifed moving forward, it's also possible to design one (poorly) that could easily do damage on a standard 90° turn at an intersection.

The turning radius of the Gen 3 is so bad that it would be near impossible to get that sharp of a turn :)

Did you start this turn by hooking up at a sharp angle?

If you referring to the OP, No. The camper was connected pretty much straight. We had left our site and on the way out dropped off trash. There was a wide area allowing me to make a 180 and while making the turn I watched the interface in the backup camera. These anytime backup camera mods are handy.

I can see that happening if you are able to go around in a 180. Do you have one of those wireless backup cameras on the rear of the trailer? I think a longer hitch head might give you more clearance in this situation but that changes the way the trailer load is applied to the truck. Mine has a longer head by about 12". I would hate to bump into the trailer or take out a tail light or knock the propane tanks off!

I have already hit my trailer with my kayaks putting a crease in the aluminum skin. :(

I wish mine turned like that. I would be planning my 24 point turn if I was heading into a cul-de-sac ;) It does take many tries to park it as well. For work, we have to take it downtown and we find that squeezing it into spots is an adventure. Could it be the added length of 6'-6" bed that creates all this fun?
