    Back story,

Installing torklift front mounts for my slide in camper. After install, not much of the original nut threads on the bolt through front leaf spring mount. They are soft and I stripped one. Going to replace when I put new HD leaf pack in a couple weeks. Replace with a new stock bolt, or could a grade 8 bolt little longer same diameter also work?

curious about weight and stress. Pics included

    Thanks guys

A little longer bolt would be fine, probably a better option than original, get one enough to put a lock washer on should be good to go

Get an appropriately sized shoulder bolt if available. Should be fine.

Yes, as others have mentioned make sure the it’s shanked properly and you’ll be fine.

shoulder bolt has a solid shaft and threads on just the end. Stronger and smoother in the middle. Here’s a pic that shows one with a shoulder. Obviously you want the shoulder on yours longer to span most of the distance across the leaf spring bushing.

Remember the standard is a minimum of three threads showing past the nut. I would consider the bolt in your picture to be unsafe. Moving to a harder grade bolt usually does not present a problem.
