Anyone using a topper which was intended for some truck other than the Tundra?

I am looking for one which fits "pretty good." Around here, used 8' Tundra caps are rare.

    Thanks for looking

Mine was originally for a 6.5' bed on an older Dodge, so it can be done. I asked several folks selling old shells for the dimensions and found one with the correct dimensions. I did have to modify the back window, just had to cut off an inch or so. I used double bulb seals all the way around (except on the front) and it does not leak. Tons of different types of seals on Amazon. Here is the link to my build, shows the whole process (warning: LONG)

I run Soft Toppers on both my Tundras. My 1st ST was purchased for my 2008 from Soft Topper .com.

My second ST in my 2021 originally came off a Ford. It fits the same as the one I purchased specifically for a tundra.

I like my soft toppers. It dies the same job as when I had rigid caps.

I realize they aren't for everyone, but I sure do get a lot of compliments from strangers.

If you are hunting for an 8' bed cap, the soft toppers are even more cheap used. Not a lot of peeps running 8' beds these days, so when they go to sell, not as many buyers.
