Greetings, I am considering the purchase of a 2024 Capstone. I have a bit of a conundrum in that I need to take my wife into Toronto biweekly for treatment. The parking garage behind the hospital has a minimum height of 78 inches.
My issue is that I need to know the maximum height of a Capstone model. In the specs it is 78.1 inches but if I am interpreting the manual correctly the height with the supplied
265/50R22 tires is 75 inches. Also does the height include the shark fin antenna?

I searched the forum but did not find an adequate answer..... Capstone owners please help me out.

    Thanks

So the garage is for raised trucks only? :D

:) Something like that, The minimum height of the ceiling is 78 inches, in most places it is more than that but I don't want to find the lowest part of the ceiling by accident.

I have a parking pass for that garage and parking in downtown Toronto is unbelievably expensive so it would be good if it fit.

Oh, the minimum clearance is 78 inches. Phew. I misunderstood that, totally. :D

The 78.1 inches height specification for the Tundra includes the shark fin antenna.

    Thanks for your reply.

The manual is somewhat confusing in that on page 538 it lists a variety of overall heights based on tire sizes, bed length, 4 vs 2 wheel drive etc. It appears that the overall height of a Capstone, short bed, 4 wheel drive, with 265/50R22 tires is 74.4 inches. Maybe I am misreading the height table.

I was hoping that someone who had run into this issue could comment.

I don’t think the capstone would be any different in height compared to everything but the trd pro, limited edition 1794, and trucks fitted with the 3 inch lift. So they should sit as high as any tundra (SR, SR5, limited, platinum/1794). I’d measure mine but I have bigger tires on there so probably sitting a little bit higher than stock.

Thanks for your reply. Hopefully someone with stock tires will measure the height.

I have a 1794, crew-max, 5.5 ft bed, rear-wheel drive, stock tires; height to top of shark fin is 71.25 inches. Specifications lists height as 78 inches. I can't explain the difference.

Seems like the listed 78.1 would be high for most. I have a 23 TRD OR with 2” level and 35s. I’m sitting at about 79”

Thanks for the input from everyone. The numbers vary too much to give me a "rule of thumb". If / when I purchase the truck I will measure it and post the number.

I would suggest visiting a dealer and measuring personally. I had similar questions regarding whether it would fit in my garage (standard height door) at home--and wasn't able to get a response from the dealership prior to purchase. Left to my own in determining. Good luck!

I have a beam in my garage that is annoyingly only 80 inches (exactly) from the garage floor to the bottom of the beam. I have a 2024 SR5 4x4 Crewmax short bed. I put all terrain tires on it when I bought it, but they are the same size as the stock tires. No lift or level. Visually, it looks like the antenna clears it with not much room to spare when I’m parked in my garage, so I wouldn’t chance it in a 78 inch parking garage.

Thanks for posting this information. Some measuring required on my part to see what the actual height of the shark fin is. :)

My 24 Capstone has Bridgestone Duelers on it and I have precisely 77 inches to the top of the shark fin antenna. Hope this helps!

I ran into this same problem taking a company F150 to a down town parking garage. According to them I had 2" to spare. My headache rack hit an overhead concrete beam that was directly over the start of a ramp to go to the next floor. Once my front tire started up that ramp my rack got taller real fast.

The blowing of horns behind me didn't speed up the process of unbolting the rack and laying it back. Columbus drivers can be such assholes.

I have a vision of this happening to me too. Exactly what I am trying to avoid.
