Thanks 15whtrd, but I have had 3 sites say they have them and when I called, they said that they don’t have them and that their sites need to be updated to reflect that. Hoping someone/someplace would just happen to have one that they never sold, or never used for sale.

I had the same problem with my 2002. I spent months constantly checking craigslist. I ended up buying their generic bedrug that you cut yourself.

There was literally a thread posted here in the 1st gen forum within the last 3-4 days talking about bed mats and bed rugs which I believe listed a compatible carpet solution. It's still in the main thread list.

I think we were talking about it under bed mats. I'm still looking for a bed rug that covers the sides and the bottom together, like the second and third gens have and pretty much every other truck on the market. No such thing seems to be in stock for the first gens. There's a universal bed rug but it just covers the bottom like a rubber bed mat.

I wonder if a bedrug that's currently on a access cab will fit a double cab properly

i agree, but if Bed Rug doesn't offer a replacement fit from a model they already make I don't have any faith in finding something like the original . Someone could really capitalize making something that fits . Heck people make liners of of every brand.

Yelp the other guy for the access cab bedrug is a little flakey. Still looking for one for my 1st gen tundra double cab. I have confirmed that the access cab bed rugs won't fit. Going up the sides is too short.

The measurements of the rug will fit the bottom of the bed and allow enough left over for the tailgate. 66”x99”

EC9B1EA0-AD36-45B4-81C1-D119745CBE34.jpg I purchased one and Can confirm that because it’s so thick 5/8 inch you can’t wrap it up to the tailgate. I never installed it.

You might be able to carve out a 1 inch strip across the whole width and have a thin layer of material connecting it.

The link above in my previous post from last September is the company I went with to purchase the universal fit.$ 109 shipped no tax you need to call them or send them an instant message to get the quote though.

For clarification, it’s about a half inch thick piece of foam with the carpet/material glued to the top of that foam. You could potentially cut out an area of the foam and just have the remaining cloth/carpet holding it together to pivot / hinge on the tailgate. I never messed with it though.

So if you are set on the bedrug, here's what you do... go to scamazon and buy both the westin bed mat and the "diy" bedrug. Lay out the bedrug on the garage floor, place the westin mat on top and trace it out. Then return the westin mat for a refund.:notsure:

Westin mat may be something they won't actually want back. That could be interesting also...

EDIT: It may be cheaper for me not to buy it from you

the big deal is the sides... i know i can make any one of these universal ones fit with no sides... but i really want the sides to help with insulation and overall comfort. building out this truck for winter desert and summer mountain camping so having it as cozy as possible is the goal. the perfect fit double cab 1st gen tundra bedrug is what i'm still on the hunt for.

BRY04DCK is the model number from bedrug

That's what I have in my DC, but it doesn't fit exactly. It came with the truck and it fits "good enough", but definitely not perfect.

My understanding is that bedrug never made one for the DC.

BRY04DCK is the model number for double cab. they fit perfectly. what did you do about the sides and tailgate not reaching up all the way? Can you send a few pics of the fitment on yours? Does it go around the wheel wells correctly?

Learn something new every day... if that's the case maybe it is for a DC. I'll try to get some pics this weekend and see if I can confirm the model number. If it is for the DC, it's definitely not a perfect fit.

cross-posting this in a few relative threads to help others:

I finally got my hands on a bedrug - although it's just the floor portion of this product. It didn't come with the zippered sides but it has the built in zippers for attaching the sides. It's made for an access cab (model number), although it fits my double cab perfectly. it includes the tailgate area built in so it will cover the cab between the bed and tailgate, unlike the universal model. I wanted that "bridge" of material between the bed and tailgate to help with dust intrusion in the camper. Since the access cab has shorter bedsides and tailgate, the tailgate area of the rug is a bit short. It's a little bit of a bummer but it's not a deal breaker for me. I would like to find the sides that I can zip up to this to help with insulation a bit and overall comfort inside the camper. Worse case I will have to DIY up the sides with some outdoor carpet.

I just wanted to post this here for anyone looking for a bedrug for a 1st gen Tundra.

These are pictures of the 2008 Dodge Bedrug complete kit minus the sides installed in a 2004 Double Cab. It is not velcro'd in, just laying in there. I took sides off when we went on a ski trip as I had some tailgate area leakage . It works OK with the sides, they’re the right height, but too long . Need to trim them eventually.
