I have a 2019 TRD Pro that I bought with the ready-lift sst installed. 2” block in the rear on top of the pro’s already 2”. It doesn’t have a carrier bearing drop done but I’ve don’t feel any vibration. I have a Coachbuilder drop that I could install. Should I just go ahead and install or no vibe no foul

If there's no vibration I wouldn't touch it

May not feel like a vibration, but more like a shudder when you accelerate from a dead stop. Not even full throttle, trying to light the tires…. Just some solid acceleration will reveal any issue. It almost feels like the tires are trying to break traction a little…

Cheap insurance…2” in the rear I definitely would. Anything over an inch I’d correct the angle vibes or not.

Coachbuilder will recommend a drop kit (he offers and I've purchased it) on his 2" and 3" shackles

I am switching from the SST rear blocks to stock TRD setup with coachbuilder +3 shackles. I have the coachbuilder drop kit. I guess it won't hurt to install even if it feels like I don't have a vibration.

Since when does a Pro come factory with a rear lift?

As far as I know, and I am new to the tundra, the Pro models sit 2" taller front and back compared to non Pro's.

I do not believe that to be accurate for the rear.

Those are the readylift specs, not the Pro OE specs. That tells you what the lift is over stock, +2F, +2R so overall 4" F and 2" R.

sounds good. I guess I never noticed the rake in a non pro to realize there wasn't anything in the rear of the pro like there is in the front. Like I said, I am new to the tundra platform. Doesn't really matter as my question was about the carrier drop with a lift if I didn't notice a vibration. I guess now we can get back to my original question about the carrier drop.

I guess I misunderstood when it said 2" front and 2" rear so 4" total compared to standard tundra. Nothing about 4" front and 2" rear.

If you dont have the vibration, no reason to try and fix something not broken right?

And to the comment in bold, it does matter - you should know what you have, bought and run IMO.

Not trying to be rude or abrasive here, just trying to provide you with details so you know what you have.

I would check your drive line angles and only adjust if needed. IF you choose to do the CB spacer make sure you mark the exact location prior to loosening the CB bolts for left to right consistency. If this alignment is bad you will get far more vibration than what the CB drop will fix, from your explanation of your current situation.

I have a very minor vibration from lifting the rear an inch. With such little lift, I am concerned that the drop kits out there from vendors may be too much, most appear to be about 3/4 inch. Thoughts? I wonder about using some washers or some other spacer that is smaller, half inch or so, that I may be able to find a lowes or HD. Or should I just get the coachbuilder CB drop?

Just grab a handful of 1/2" washers. I used the square plate washers because they were readily available. They're 1/4" thick. Available at HD, as well as Lowe's for much less than the CB kit, and you can have it today...

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/Simpson...K3oeHTrUWVscHExfg6xoC4I0QAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

BTW, I started with 3/4" stacks. Lost the shudder, but picked up a very mild vibration I could feel in my feet. I pulled one washer out of the stacks and now have 1/2". Vibration is better and still no shudder. My rear lift is via Deaver U748 springs and is still about +3" over OEM.

I like the washers because you can dial the angle in with minor adjustments.

With the RL 2" blocks supplied in your kit its still worth adding some correction at the carrier bearing. RL uses a tapered block but even with the taper the amount of load the pinion feels at take off is not nice on the pinion or rear U joint. Our small CB drop kit. measures .750" and will work excellent. https://shop-coachbuilder.myshopify...kit-rear-lift-0-2?_pos=2&_sid=450d0bf8b&_ss=r

Side note: the larger 6"-8" RL kits have the same problem with loading the pinion up during take off. We see this often.

I have your small cb drop kit already. I plan on removing the RL block and using your +3 shackle. If I put the drop kit in now with the block should I leave it in after the switch to the shackle?

I agree with @14burrito . If you have a shutter and/or vibration use the carrier bearing drop kit. I had a slight vibration at take off with my 3/1.5 lift and the @Coachbuilder1 spacers did the trick. Not much more to say about it.

Latest thread I could find on the topic. It looks like my '21 Pro came with a drop kit from factory? I made some aluminum spacers real quick at work this morning and crawled under the truck to find this. I don't notice any vibration but do have CB +3 in the rear.. figured it wouldn't hurt to add them. 20220930_073352.jpg

@V10Ace that is a carrier bearing drop spacer. If there is no vibration and/or shuttering at take off you should be good to go. No need to add more spacers.
