I just found out about the thieves stealing Tundra catalytic converters because they have 4 and easy to get them. I still researching to find best option to prevent mine being stolen. My insurance covers them but I am still out $500.

Without going off on one of my tangents about killing the f$%k#&s I bought the CBI full skid for my 2.5 gen and while insane protection for offroading its very expensive and actually did not solve the theft problem. Pretty much every skid out there still allows the thief to cut aft of the rear cat so its getting the front part protected that's vital. I had to rivet small additions to my middle skid for this protection. I know that RCI plates also do not offer protection for the mini-sawsall's these scumbags are now using but apparently they are working on one. The best solution both in terms of price, and superior protection is the Valhalla's shield and from what I read he is already working on something for the 2022. I wish I went that route now. Plus, if you search this forum you will see the comments on his product are overwhelmingly positive. Also, never ever bad to support the working man as opposed to the big groups even if the working man is from Texas. Sorry, had to get that in there.

There's a couple out there for the 22 Tundra, like ********* and Talons Garage... That's just two I know for sure.

…and can cost you $500-$1000 a piece to get replaced depending on where you live.

It’s a daily occurrence here in the Pacific Northwest…videos out there of 1 guy cutting and another one keeping watch at gunpoint in some cases…it’s sad.

no need to watch the entire thing…first 15 seconds is indicative of the act/problem.

Already ordered one from Valhalla and I don't even have my new Tundra yet (March???). At work we have already been hit twice even with security cameras. They are bold. Our replacement price has been around $7k per vehicle, I am told. Insurance covered the replacements but not our deductibles or our lost revenue due to trucks being out of service for weeks...

I'm considering buying a catalytic converter shield/plate, I've never had one in the past but can understand the benefits. I'm wondering if the shields need to be dropped to grease the drive shaft universal joints? Or do the shields not go back that far? Thanks

Wouldn't that become armed robbery? Also if you happened to catch them in the act and pointing a gun at you but you got the shot off first seems to me it would be self defense.

You do realize that anyone can post anywhere on here they like, right? The sub-forum for generations is easily missed by many. If you want to keep it as an exclusive 3rd gen post, then I suggest putting "2022+" or "3rd Gen" in the title.

Also, lots of aftermarket parts sites and such used to call the 2014+ 3rd gen in order to differentiate from the earlier trucks that may cause fitment issues. That's 8 years of people being used to their trucks being called a 3rd gen, so the model year is your best bet for a title edit.

Trust me, I know where it says it, but you see how the title is big and bold? That's what people see at a glance. I was offering a constructive tip because I've seen this "issue" over the years. Feel free to ignore the tip, but I would suggest not being rude to people who didn't notice the smaller print. Mods have issued warnings and bans for that. We are a community, regardless of generation.

Was a blanket statement. @damnfingers' "you do realize" could be construed as rude, and you gave it a like. Neither would be anything the mods would blink at, and for a time there funny "shoo" memes from the 1st Gen group, but then a new member felt picked on when getting the meme, and they cracked down. I'm just giving a heads up to nip it in the bud.

If what I said could be construed as rude someone would have to have very thin or no skin. Also I didn’t give anything a like.
