Picked up my first Tundra, a 2025 SR5 well equipped. Came from a 2023 Tacoma. I have a Cobra Allroad 75 CB radio and love it. I travel as a consultant and use it often. I have a magnetic mount where I used to place on the top of my Tacoma but my Tundra is too tall so mounting it on my roof isn’t going to work in my garage. I’m adding a factory tonneau cover so that option is out. Has anybody out there found a mount for the hood or done something different so I can mount an antenna and still look nice? Pic of my new Tundra attached.

You can get fender hood mounts for antennas at any Radio or on line.

Ditch the antiquated CB Radio and just get a good GMRS radio. Here's how I mounted my stealth antenna until someone makes a third brake light housing with an antenna mount for the 3rd gens.

I do like that mount. I’m curious where you got the mount at. As a consultant, I travel across the nation and I can tell you that CB radio has saved my butt several times over the last few months. I do have a GMRS and I can tell you I’ve never spoken to a person yet on the road Using that protocol.

Congrats on your new Tundra @cramitude. It looks very good :)
As an RF antenna engineer, here are my comments:
1- at CB RF frequencies most mobile antennas are horribly inefficient. I would keep in mind that anything you can do to install the largest (read longest) antenna the better.
2- Since the whip is only half of the radiating structure, where the vehicle is the other half, try not to locate the antenna on a vehicle corner as this will concentrate the radiation in the direction where most of the vehicle is from the antenna. You might end up with very little radiation the opposite direction.
3- This is the hardest one: at CB RF frequencies, the earth is way to close to the antenna to give a low angle of radiation. Try to locate the antenna as high as possible in order to get some low angle radiation. This is generally in direct competition with the desire/need to limit the over all height for say garage entry.

    Hope this helps.

Looks like a lot of good ideas here! Thanks.
