I installed a CBI covert bumper and was fortunate enough to get it on Black Friday deal for $850.

    https://cbioffroadfab.com/product/toyota-tundra-covert-front-bumper-2022/

Installation was pretty straight forward and CBI has a pretty good video on the product page. However I was a little nervous to cut the bumper, minimal cutting though.

The winch is a Warn VR Evo 12k with a synthetic rope and wireless controller. The control box had just enough cable where I could relocate it to a cross member in front of the radiator. I had to removed passenger side grille support and drill one hole to mount the control box. The coolant line between the inter coolers had to be moved but I did not do it like the CBI video suggested.

    DF4E55D3-AD1E-4C2E-9D3E-5A2FF6D45CE5.jpg

I didn’t want the winch to have constant power so I installed a Warn power interrupter kit. You can find in dash switches that match the factory and one is Winch power.

    https://www.warn.com/power-interrupt-kit-62132

The light bar is a Rigid 20” single row. Rigid has a real nice wiring harness and with the low pro mounts it fit perfectly behind the grille.

I hooked up the light bar to work off high beams the installation can be found here: https://www.tundras.com/threads/202...-to-work-with-high-beams.116824/#post-3003716

Looks really great. Can you tell us how much do you think that it dropped the front after installing the bumper ? I don’t want to end with too much rake Thank you

I had previously installed the RC 1.75 leveling spacer which was basically a true level. This give it like the perfect amount of rake. Not sure on exact measurements.

    That looks killer OP.

Surprised you relocated the control box. I have the Badlands Apex winch, which has a similar footprint to the Warn EVO, and it fit ok. I also didn't clock my winch (I doubt the APEX is even clockable), but there's plenty of room to run my fat hand up there. haha.

I rerouted my coolant line a smidge higher. I also bent back the left side bracket so the line wouldn't rub on the winch case.

    Your install looks awesome. Kudos!

I did relocate only because I want to re install one of the grille supports (drivers side). I also re installed the coolant line holder in the middle and did a little tweak to it. Doesn’t rub the winch like the first photo depicts.
Yours looks great though. Nice to see some other people dive in to it.

Holy smokes! Look at all the room on the winch mounting plate. You could fit a yacht on there too. Us 2.5 gens are lucky is we have 1/4” left over

A winch generally comes with the free spool handle straight up. On the Warn you can rotate the housing to out the handle out the front, unknown about the badlands.

Love that bumper/winch combo but now their website is showing not for TRD models. Is that because the airdam (which I don't have) or the active shutters (which i do have)?

Less is more in my book and that looks great.

Mine is TRD off road, SR5. I did not have air damn and so have shutters. I’m not sure why it would say it doesn’t work but certainly does.

There's tons of TRD ORs out there with the Covert Bumper and the Baja Bumper (mine). Hell, CBI even makes the front covert bumper on Toyota's Trailhunter trim concept they showed at SEMA last month.

It's gotta be something specific to the TRD Pro.

I didn’t have to use any, I’m not sure if you can tell from pictures. I used the factory holes in the winch control and drilled in to the truck, it’s still working really good.

That looks awesome for not having a bracket. What type of screws did you use for the hole you drilled into the cross member

I don’t remember to honest. I have loads of ransom bolts and nuts and if I remember correctly it was just some stainless hardware that was long enough.

Anyone have a photo of how they placed their front license plate on the cbi bumper? I haven’t seen one photo with the plate installed.

There is a plate behind with a small opening for the winch cable if you decide I don’t think you need an additional plate.

So when I mounted my Apex winch I had to pull the spool handle and reinsert it 180 so that I could free it up to use it. The initial position wouldn't allow it to move as it would hit my light bar. Luckily the handle reinserted just fine and works as it should.

So I am understanding this right, you can have a winch and the license plate on the front with a CBI bumper?

If you zoom in on mine between the recovery hooks you can see only a place for the license plate, am I missing something? The problem is license plates on the front are mandatory on the other side of the line here in Commie Oregon, I’m planning on not running one if I have no other choice because I want to eventually put a winch in.
