Hey guys, I can't find an answer to this anywhere.

    2001 Tundra

The stock CD player kept trying to eject, even if no CD is in it killing the battery. I put a new aftermarket stereo in and it, too, keeps trying to eject with nothing in it, killing the battery. Has anyone else run into this? I HATE chasing down electrical problems.

    Just a few questions....
    1. Are you the original owner?
    2. Does the stereo not turn off when you pull the keys out?
    3. What was the last CD you were listening to?
    4. Did you happen to name your truck Christine?
Seriously if what you are saying is true, your truck is possesed or has some incorrect wiring on your HU or amps. Seek a priest or professional audio installer asap. good luck.

    ...and Welcome from Vegas.

Logically, there's nothing on the truck side that could make this happen to two different stereos. The truck is really just the supplier of switched and constant 12V power. There's no other interface/interaction between the truck and the stereo -- unless you have steering wheel controls. Do you have steering wheel audio controls? If so, is there and "eject" button? (I don't have steering wheel audio control, so I don't know.)

Did you ever figure this out? My 01 started doing this today. I pulled the fuse and ordered a new radio that doesn't have a CD player but am very curious to what your fix ended up being.

I remember on some OEM radios back in the day, you could reset them by holding a button while turning on the car. Like, holding the Eject button while turning the key forward. Maybe power button? I forget. But I do recall the eject button being a thing.

Try power and eject x 10sec. Might pull radio and open it up looking for stuck cd or broken plastic piece.

Something similar happened to me. I had the OEM JBL unit...I left a CD in when I went to Battery Warehouse for a new battery, after which the CD was stuck, but kept trying to eject itself all the time. Very annoying! So I bought a new unit at Crutchfield, mostly because I wanted modern features like USB, Bluetooth, and hands free calling. I took the top off the factory unit and was able to reclaim my CD.

Pro tip: Save your OEM mounting brackets...you'll thank me later
