A little annoyed at this. When I have free time from my 6mo old, I’m going to see what I can do to stuff back in there. Anyone else experience this? It doesn’t look awful in the picture but when it’s down, you can see it hanging out.

That sucks! I’ve had several Tundras and Sequoias and have never seen this.

Yeah not sure how/when it started either. I was opening it up to get access to the 12v plug to start wiring in my heated seats and noticed it. Now I can't not see it.

Had this happen on mine also, luckily I was still under warranty and they replaced it, haven't had any issues since. I think the vinal was cut a little short at the factory.

Yeah I'm out of warranty now. 3 years and 45k miles. I'm wondering if I could get some kind of adhesive in there with pressure to hold it down?

I was about to post about this same issue. I asked the dealership when I was last there and they took pictures and said they would contact Toyota and get back to me… never heard from them again. Gonna keep calling and see if they’ll do anything for me but not holding out much hope.
I agree it looks like they were cut too short at the factory, maybe it’s a 2020 issue

Not for $350 plus shipping. Ohio to MD and back is probably a 12 hour drive.

I know its something you shouldn't have to do on a 2020. But I would take remove the screws and panel, and try to stretch and reglue the vinyl. You may be able to get a staple in there. If you can get the cover off, let it sit in the sun for a bit and the vinyl will be easier to stretch.

If that doesn't work, you can take the cover to an upholstery shop and have them install new vinyl (or you could try it yourself). it's not too bad. I did that with my old Tundra when my dog tore up the upholstery on its console lid.

just a thought... i wonder if you could contact a vehicle salvage and get one from a wrecked Tundra?

I think this is probably my best option. If I can find one at a pull a part or something. In the mean time I’ll try and stuff it back up there with a mild adhesive but long term solution will be to replace.

Agreed. I'd take the lid off, remove the inside cover and use 3M trim adhesive and clothes pins to clamp it in place till the adhesive cures, then re-assemble. May be worth it to soften up the vinyl before hand with a blow dryer.

NFN, but that looks like where you rest your fingers while driving and you pick at the cover?

Looks like a part that was built at a supplier on a friday.
Material was trimmed short but was judged OK because the glue was still holding on.
The toyota factory didn't catch it and neither did the dealer.
A little wear and tear, and then edge wrap gave out due to insufficient back-tack.

My recommendation is push for dealer warranty. Tf that fails, then i would try and re-glue.
Clothes pins or speed clamps should work. the key is to maintain vinyl tension during set process.
Heating it up will make it a little easier to stretch. Also make sure to CLEAN the old adhesive and surfaces off before re-applying a new adhesive.

I've been out of town since Friday but I'm going to try the warranty route first. If I get no where then I'll start on reapplying adhesive.

Glad I'm not the only one that's had this issue!

Had the same thing on our 2021. Exact same spot on all the ones I've seen. Toyota replaced it but it took a while to get the ok for some reason.

Yes, way past warranty. I had a shop named Superior Interiors do it. I was on a waiting list for 4 months. $175
