I haven't. Post a pic if you end up experimenting with it.

I bought 1/8” high density closed cell foam self adhesive sheets and lined the whole inside of the safe. Picky work but turned out beautiful and now valuable items don’t slide around on the bare metal insides.

To me safe deal is good thought but kinda useless. What would you put in there that you didn't want stolen?

Heard of a thing called the 2nd amendment to the constitution of the USA? You can keep a small copy of it in there.

So far I just use the safe for places I can’t carry in so no driving . I have a competition holster I was thinking of using that has a Safari land adapter I could just bolt to the safe . That way I can switch flavors in future

I use the same QD adapter in mine. Works great. All I have to do is release from the truck and attach to my carry paddle. Takes 10-20 seconds. No fiddling with the firearm from holster to holster.

Th vast majority of guns used in crime are stolen, many of them out of vehicles. I generally cringe when I hear people talk about a "truck gun"
Having a factory option for a safe that is convenient to use and allows one to lock up a pistol when going somewhere it is illegal to carry is a pretty nice feature from Toyota.

That being said, I hope that people aren't leaving their guns in it overnight.

Just because it is a vehicle safe doesn't mean it can not be opened. If vehicle can be stolen that safe can be opened. It does seem to be a good thought.

I was at the Vegas Shot Show last week and saw this new product from "The Headrest Safe".
I'm not affiliated with them in anyway. Just thought this was cool that its not obvious its a safe.
Safe can be unlocked by key, combination or finger print. Mounts on passenger side for ez driver access or on the driver's side for passenger access.

Lots of stuff. Off the top of my head I can keep candy, little knick knacks and chewing gum.

    Also, a Glock

I would never use that to store something valuable. Especially not a firearm.
On more than superficial inspection it doesn’t look like a headrest. Especially if you only have one of them it would stand out from the others. Easy for a thief to just steal the whole thing and open it later. Having that in your truck (if an experienced criminal sees it) would be like an invitation to smash the window just to steal the “headrest”.

Agree, you would need a matched set to minimize detection. They offer a second headrest without the safe. The safe is not easily removed. There are toggle bolts holding it to the seat, you would need to open the safe door to gain access to those bolts.

I think it's hilarious people talk down the safe concept. It's a definite upgrade from locking something in a glove box and prevents smash-and-grab moments of crime from getting full access, whereas a glovebox takes seconds to force open, these safes take much longer to open - enough time to dissuade the opportunistic thief. Nobody said it was Superman's Fortress of Solitude for Impervious Gun Anti-Theft Guarantees. It's a modest upgrade, set expectations accordingly!

I think it’s a great thought. I keep a small safe in my Tundra. I carry a pistol, say I need to mail a package at the post office, can’t legally carry there, in the safe it goes. Comes in the house at night. Where is the issue in this use case?

Shhhhhh…. Oregon has eliminated the affirmative defense in some cases, anti-gun prosecutors all over the west side, raises the stakes. Not sure how they define infringement, but they are.
