Hi There, I am looking at getting a cap and wonder what the community says about the two brands, Century (LEER) and A.R.E.

Is it just personal preference? Other than the 2 lock vs. 1 lock and half slider vs 1/3 slider on side window, I am not sure what the big difference is.

Thoughts, experiences and opinions are welcomed!
    Thanks!

So, I picked up a very used ARE V series cap for my 02. I don't have any regrets because the price was right. But after seeing the build quality of this thing I would never order a new one. To be honest though, most of the big brand caps have very mixed reviews. It seems like the quality control is hit or miss. I've never heard of century until now. Keep in mind Snugtop and Leer also make caps for 1st gen Tundras.

Thanks FirstGenVol for the perspective. Century and LEER are owned and made by the same people. I am leaning that way as opposed to ARE.

In the Western States, Snugtop is popular and in Southern California, if you order a shell or tonneau from your Toyota dealership, it's probably a Snugtop. I've owned several and had zero problems.

I'm looking at a century commercial... seems like the cheaper option for the same quality

Did you end up getting a Century cap EZO? I'm looking for a manufacturer that'll build a 23"-36" commercial wedge (ARE won't) and Century does. I've read some complaints about their build quality, but that's true to one degree or another with all the companies that manufacture these things. Curious if there are any satisfied customers out there with one of their commercial aluminum shells.
