So this might be an off the wall question but I have a 2017 SR-5 Double Cab Tundra with single zone A/C unit. Can you upgrade to a dual-zone and besides the face place is there any other components that would need changed to allow this. I was looking at some schematics of a platinum and all the components appeared to be the same but I am assuming I am missing something. So if you could help it would be appreciated

Welcome. Aside from the controls, you'll need the dual blend doors and the ducting is probably different to accommodate the dual blend doors. IDK though. I haven't been behind the dash.

    Welcome to the site.

Hopefully you can look in local junk yards for a limited or higher trim package and get all the components that way.

My 2012 CM had dual climate controls, and that was a requirement. So I can understand why this might be important.

    Hi,

Did you ever have any luck with this mod? I'm interested in doing the same. Thanks

Pretty much. A year ago I had some odd and VERY intermittent sensor issue with my truck; I've got the dual-zone auto HVAC thing.

I was asking if it was possible to 'downgrade' to the single zone manual HVAC system. I was told I "could" but they'd have to replace some other components particular to the dual-zone system (blend doors, actuators, etc.). It was prohibitively expensive UNLESS one either is a mechanic or already had/has it torn apart for something else.
