So yesterday I changed my rear pads and rotors to PowerStop.
As I am doint the install one of the challenges I ran into was the tin bushing that go between the pads and the calipers were extremely difficult to set and keep in on the passenger side.

After about an hour of fumbling around with these things I finally got them in. and got everything installed

    Then...

I took off to do the break in.

As I pull out of the driveway, I hear this scraping sound I slowed down to make sure it wasn't something else, and went around the corner - truck stops nicely, but still this scraping sound.

It was dark, so I wasn't able to pull everything off and redo it, but this is bothering me -

I'm thinking its either the back on the brakes or the calipers sticking - one maybe - but bothe side.

    Any suggestions?

    Probably bent a backing plate.

+1 for the backing plate. I replaced my pads and rotors with OEM about 5k ago and at break-in had the same scraping noise. It gradually lessened over 50 or so miles until it only did it on sharp, low speed turns and when the truck straightened out the scraping went away. I took the rotors off and could plainly see where the rotor was contacting the backing plate. From roughly 1 o'clock to 3 o'clock on the backing plate there was a shiny scar about 1/16" wide. My solution was a punch and a hammer. I tapped the backing plate back a little bit from one end of the scar to the other and the noise is gone.

Had same issue on an other car...took the wheel off, pushed the backing plate/cover away from the rotor and problem solved.

I pulled the wheels last night and and pushed the plate back - no dice. Next step is to change calipers too - I'm starting to think the calipers are bad. Drivers side was way more worn than the passenger.

well you should be able to tell if the caliper isn't moving right. I usually just mount the caliper on without the disk on... you should be able to move the caliper around on the pins really easy. if not, take it all apart and clean and lube everything.

Also with it in the air, wheel off and turning by hand can you tell whats rubbing? A bad caliper would always rub... something isn't installed right.

I had the same issue with Power Stop rotors and pads this summer. The fronts were fine, but the back ones made a terrible sound. I think they were not breaking in properly because so much of the stopping power is done by the front. I tore mine down and redid it about 3 - 4 times, trying everything. I replaced the pins, made sure the backing plate wasn't making contact, did everything you can imagine. It just did not go away...until I towed my RV with it. I did some braking with the RV brakes unplugged (safely on a deserted road). It heated up the rear brakes enough that it finally stopped making the scraping sound. YMMV, but that's what fixed mine.
