So I was on my way to work and the truck lost power. I tried accelerating and then it started back up but then almost immediately lost power again. I also lost power steering. I was able to coast into a parking lot. As I was doing this the check engine light and battery light came on. I got into a parking lot, turned the truck off. I restarted the tuck there weren’t any lights on and was able to drive the three miles home with no issues of power or power steering. Has anyone else had these issues and have any tips?

I'm pretty sure your serpentine belt is broke.

It runs power steering pump, alternator, air conditioning pump and water pump.

You should not drive the truck, it will overheat and you can ruin the engine .

Belt about $50-60 dollars and takes 15 minutes to change.

    Please report back.

Also confirm your battery leads are tight...could be a belt, battery, alternator...but I'm betting it's a wire issue if you could steer home...let us know when you get it figured out!!

Got the alternator and battery checked. All doing great. Belt is fine. There’s some corrosion on the terminals. But the guy that tested the battery said that’s barely anything. Read some where about a possible fuse. Anybody heard of that?

Sounds like a loose ground. Pushing on all the fuses to make sure they are snug wouldn’t hurt.
